Re: Canadian Ultralight Aircraft
Why is it that Transport Canada does not want to, or is unwilling to match the specs for Light Sport Aircraft in Canada? There are so many excellent aircraft out there that fit within the LS community in the US, yet can't be registered as an Ultralight in Canada because certain details. Because the...

Re: RCMP helicopter vs. RCMP drone
Has their SFOC been removed until they prove they can effectively communicate in the same units?
World's first confirmed drone strike, first aircraft brought down by a drone strike.

Sorry for being harsh but - this one's pretty inexcusable.

So, they are not allowed to tell the truth or say anything negative about a past employee ? Sure you are free to say whatever you want to, however there is always the danger of being sued for slander if you say something negative. If the former employer does say positive things that is a safe way o...

Re: Price/demand for free lance instructors.
A couple times lately I've heard of some 'time share' aircraft for training.
Buy your timeshare for a buck - you're now an owner. Hourly cost is way under ftu $. It's arms length from the instructor - owned by some #'d company

Re: What do you do when you think someone should never fly again?
The challenge is for you to understand how they learn and adjust how you teach so they do learn... Things sure have changed since I retired. I can not recall having flown for any company that required me to teach an F.O. how to fly. If they did insist I teach them I would have charged them my norma...

With some there is no way to teach. Trust me, if you fly with the person I'm posting about, you will understand. It will be a real eye-opener that this person has gotten so far in their career. Kinda goes back to my initial post. Clearly this person can learn - as he's managed to progress to this p...

Re: What do you do when you think someone should never fly again?
But your FTU is like an apprenticeship school year. Starts the basis of the knowledge - you spend the next 6-9months out in the field applying that knowledge, on the job learning and gaining more skills. You don't go to a flight school and come out ready to fly a 787, it's very much an apprenticeshi...

Non cockpit experience talking here. Remember the saying - anytime you point the finger at someone there's 3 pointed back at you? Construction industry, I used to bitch and moan about the sh++y arse helpers/apprentices they assigned me with. I clued in one day - the kid I was 'stuck' with was comple...

Because the flight school says it's the owner?

And the SJWs start.
You bought a house in an air ranch. Attached to an airport.
And b***ch about airport operations.

The two occupants exited the plane unharmed. One report says...

Re: Full video of aircraft landing on road
How reliable are those VW engines. Always thought it was strange to take a car engine and stick a prop on it. Not the best to answer. But they're as good as the person who installs and connects it. 60+ years of practice putting props on them, still have a formula VW air racing class. Can't be awful.

Bit meanwhile the c27 - looks like a herc gets maintained like a herc, uses a significant % of herc parts... oh and it's a much more versatile platform. Not like we have an aviation industry here that knows Hercules right? So let's buy an Airbus so we need to have another whole supply line, a whole ...
