Reviving this thread for an update. Now that so many NDBs and VORs have been decommissioned, what are some minimum practical set ups? Who can afford two complete GPS navigators?
Are there any practical and somewhat inexpensive alternatives to this?

Trauma reducing bucking bars. Worth it?
Any of you airframe guys tried out the ATI trauma reducing bucking bars? Are they worth the money? How well do they work?
I have a line on a set but wanted to see if they are worth anything.

Re: Anyone have an abnormal ECG on Cat 1?
Apparently I do seem to have an "incomplete right bundle branch block" but they are common and usually benign. It even says in the med guide: Bundle Branch Block Left bundle branch block and right bundle branch block of recent onset, indicate the need for a cardiovascular examination to rule out hea...

Gave me a heart attack! So glad this forum is here. I'm fit, slim and had a normal ECG a couple of years ago including a 24 hou...

Or is the comparison merely between the resale value of the certified versus Owner Maintenance aircraft? I have had many people say...

Re: Cat1 medical Inguinal Hernia Question
Sounds like it depends on the doc and the hernia. Not a blanket ban. Thanks.

Cat1 medical Inguinal Hernia Question
Is an inguinal hernia an automatic fail on the cat1 medical? The reg states: 1.15 The applicant shall be free from any hernia that might give rise to incapacitating symptoms in flight. If the hernia is manageable and it can be "proven" that it would not become incapacitating I suppose that this reg ...
