Re: Jet stream down

You are SO wrong. The airplane was in the cold side of the hangar. De-ice sprayer was standing by and the crew were observed climbing on ladders doing a tactile test just before closing up. NWAL has some issues but they are competent at operating in the North. I know but the best way get informatio...

Re: Jet stream down

The plane was pulled out of warm hangar into falling snow. There was a delay waiting for 3 passengers to arrive. When they took off the wings and/or tail were contaminated. The reason they want the name out of the news is they are worried about the deceased passenger's families and employer coming a...

The union is more than aware and the comparators have already been put in the negotiating committee's hands.
Yes but unfortunately this is American hours so we can't compare

Are they assigning WB FO to new-hires without previous jet time now? They were 6 years ago but I think they stopped for awhile.

The ICAO audit and the new UN report are separate things I believe.

I expect ICAO will step in soon and give TC a slap on the wrist. One more near miss.

Re: Perimeter Runway Excursion

Please make a thread about the North Star PC12 crash then. I'm interested. I agree this Pelmet person has kind of ruined the accident forum. Every incident should have its own thread with a descriptive title and the date. I don't think it's a conspiracy, people just don't know how to use the internet.

Kind of scary that a flat tire leads to loss of control. Would this be one of the larger planes with single tires per main gear?

It would be hard to find Westjetty pilots these days without tattoos. It'd be like having a no spikey hair policy in the 00's.

Just thinking outside of the box; could you go to the US via Australia? Like get a job in Australia and a PR there and get a much better chance of going to a US major?

Re: Quick question on how to snag

I like how you guys are worried Transport Canada are going to come down hard on the school if there's a logbook issue. I worked for a 703 that didn't have a single pilot written snag in any logbook ever. Stacks of Journey Logs to the ceiling and not one snag. Transport never said shit.

Maybe making a joke about something that just happened isn't the best thing....

But yes, let's stand firm and bring this industry up to the level that we all deserve.
And here we go.

Re: “I compete in Canada, so I need to be competitive in Canada,” - Mike Rosseau

Unpopular opinion here I'm sure, but even a strike, threat or actual, isn't likely to get Air Canada's pilots US-level wages. Realistically a relatively minor premium to Westjet's new cba is where it will end up, hopefully with some significant lifestyle/scheduling improvements to go along with it....
