Re: Carson Air

The jets are leaving. There is no more jet flying under the current contract. They departed a very sustainable medevac model with prospects of becoming world class with PC24 purpose built platform to outdated, obsolete kingair. you'll fly propellor planes day and night for sub-par pay. You will nev...

Re: Dash FO to captain upgrade time

With 1000TT and 500 hours on the E170 type, would it make more sense to join as an FO on the Q, upgrade to Q Capt and then transition to E2 Capt or would it make more sense to just wait a year until meeting E2 FO mins and skip the Q? I think I would quite enjoy the Q and I would like to get some tr...

Yup. Early descents too and even final FL capped at 230 for turboprops sometimes. Thanks NavCanada.

Buddy if you have the money to fly your own airplane (ifr machine, trips to Oshkosh, etc, etc...) then just keep flying for fun! Keep doing whatever you're doing to pay for it. It sounds more fun and profitable then a career in aviation!

Works out to 42.2K, 46.2K and 53.8K for years 1, 2 and 3 respectively. Captain salary basically unchanged or slightly improved. Oh wow :s...

That's base salary.
You can opt out of benefits. You can opt out if RRSP match.
3$/hr perdiem away from base.
So... whatever Ont. Taxes are... there's your take home
Does that help?

No they aren’t. Maybe they are in your sector. I know I wouldn’t trade places with most (but not all) of my American counterparts. That’s not to say that there aren’t low paid pilots in Canada, but that isn’t a rule, just like it isn’t a rule that pilots uniformly make better money elsewhere. I’ve ...
