Re: Greenbank Ontario Fatal Crash

Hi all, Well, as a one-time resident of Uxbridge, a pilot who got to know Mickey pretty well and experience first-hand his passion for aviation I'm hugely shocked and saddened at this terrible loss. I flew out of Greenbank regularly and know the area very well. Anyone who lived in the area would hav...

Re: Starting Age for Pilots

Hi all, here's my take for what it's worth. At age 34 the flying bug bit me when I was well established in a non-flying career outside of Canada. Prior to that I had always wanted to fly but never had the money to be able to do it. So what did I do? - I did my research, moved to Canada (at that time...

Re: CargoJet interview??

Well, I've heard nothing but good about Cargojet and that's sure as hell where I'm aiming for once I've done my multi-ifr ride. Just look at the fleet they have! - it's all solid, progressive experience if you ask me. Also, just look at the replies on this site from George Sugar - helpful and he eve...

Re: TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS REVISED 2008 SCHEDULE

Right off, I gotta say I'm not Torontonian - hell, I can't even skate but I live in this fine city and love all it has to offer - BUT! WTF is it with the Leafs and the support they STILL GET based on a truly appalling record of lost games and mediocre performance? Where's the hunger to win? - where'...

I didn't see it and I haven't heard about it but I know of someone who has heard of it but hasn't yet seen it. There's a rumour that I'm planning to hear about it so that I can schedule to see it but until then I flaty deny everything. Just wanted to clear that up.

Ha Ha!! - At my school we could breath as much air as we wanted, shovel snow at least equal to the amount that had fallen and "help" with some interesting weight & balance projects in the hanger - ALL FOR FREE!!

60 years too late?

Hi Y'all, This might be a little wordy so I apologise but this has been brewing for a while and I feel the need to say it. Over the last few years, I've been fortunate enough to meet some truly amazing Canadian WWII veterans (both RCAF as well as land forces) via my father-in-law who has authored so...

Re: Cell phone companies

Ah yes, "Hell Canada" as I refer to them. Without doubt THE WORST customer service experience of my life. They tried to bill me $500 for a years worth of cell phone useage when I hadn't even turned the friggin' thing on and had not received a single invoice from them! Of course as I'm trying to reso...

Hi Pilotboy88, I started my own PPL/CPL training a few years ago in October in southern Ontario and it was the best flying I ever had. Sure, some bad weather days (just like summer thunderstorms, fog in Spring etc) but it was great to get some winter flying experience under the guidance of a great i...

Hi Y'all I'm a recent convert from FS2004 to X-Plane because my PC had a meltdown. It's a GREAT flight model and platform for future aircraft. I use an Intel Mac, 2.1Ghz, and 2G of Ram (I didn't eat for 6 months but they are cheaper now - stupid me!!). My only issue was with the 'look' of aircraft i...

Multi training - gear down in the circuit!!

Hi Y'all and I have to agree with Cat on this. I'm doing my Multi right now and policy at the school I'm stuck with is gear down throughout the circuit (??!!) - couldn't beleive it. I mean, there's nothing like dealing with the potential of a gear-up landing by NOT cycling the gear in the circuit at...

We ALL deserve every cent we get. Wether it's working the ramp, instructing, F/O with a charter operator or a senior captain asleep in the crew cabin of a 747-400!!

We have all struggled or are still struggling to get where we are or want to be.

MONEY = CHOICE and that's all!!

Hey Chewsta, My advice would be "keep it simple". During the instructional portion of your flight test, don't assume that the 'pretend student' knows more than they really do. You won't get marked down for teaching it simple to complex. Don't talk to the 'student' in the air without first taking con...

Hey guys & gals, The sun is setting, another day is over and my thoughts (as ever) turn to "why did I ever join!!!!" - Tales from a lonely (slightly psycho) flight instructor. Hey guys,

Jeezuz!! - Nice to see that we're all still getting along together isn't it? Sounds like we have an ex-lawyer type in our midst who's just discovered that pro-bono work is the norm in aviation!!

Smell the jet fuel - keep the dream alive!! - good luck Permateacher.
