Re: Record revenues vs 4 year flat pay

FWIW - Our VP Flight Ops was very vocal about the need to have PIT (Pilot Introduction Training) classes of 40 for the foreseeable future. I see in his latest update that he congratulated 65 new hires on the last two courses. I'm no math major but that looks like 15 no shows/deferrals. Almost 20% l...

Not so this summer. They're planning 30-40 every three weeks until June, then 40+ every two weeks. Or so they say...

I suspect Jazz won't slow down either.

Re: Confed drops IFR

Just go to Cornwall or some where that does Group 1 Multi IFRs and get it done. Sure it'll cost you a couple grand but you save money from not having to pay for another year of tuition plus other costs and you'll get out into the work force a year sooner earning an income.

Re: Classic Dash replacement??

That’s good news! Isn't a great airport for the Q though. Especially in the winter. 100' wide runway..if it's plowed to the edges (limit is 98' for the Q in order to be able to turn around) and 5000' if landing on 19. It's tight... CYGK 01/19 is 6000 ft. There is a turning bay at the button of 19 s...

Re: SAS q400 gear collapse vid

The debate on whether or not to stow an engine for a gear problem is not new and it is not restricted to just this one aircraft. Indeed it has been discussed and debated for years and we have all seen the guy landing gear up vids with engines caged but the issue is whether it's approved in the cert...

Re: ATPL Processing Times

7 weeks for me in YYZ (they quoted me 8 business weeks at that time when I submitted it). Went to the office to get it signed off and pick up my logbook. The sticker came about a week later. However, you can get it in a day or 2 if you give TC evidence you require it immediately. E.g. Job offer, upg...

No it does not. You will assigned a seniority number on the second day of ground school. Names are drawn from a hat. Pilots coming directly from other ALPA airlines get first priority.

Re: Yow commuters

I don't commute so I'm not sure how difficult it is but Air Canada has a flight almost every hour between YYZ and YOW. There's also reciprocal jumpseat agreements with WJ and Porter. There are YOW layovers for the Q400 YUL & YYZ and CRJ. How often you could get them each month, I'm not sure. But if ...
