Having an issue with the job application site, and of course there's no info to contact the recruiting team. I applied for Encore, when I did the system had my cover letter and resume from when I applied 2 years ago. I deleted the old documents, uploaded the new updated ones, and submitted my appli...

Re: ATPL HELP?
I would go through and answer all the Aerocourse questions, and make note of any that you did not know and research it. If you understand the answer behind the questions you answer in that book, you'll do fine on the ATPL exams.

Re: New Saron Questions?
Aerocourse is a good place to start, there was a couple of questions that was on my SARON that I saw word for word in the workbook. Make sure you look over the Transport Canada Study and Reference Guide, it will let you know all the subject areas you should be familiar with.

Re: A Career in Aviation or Law Enforcement?
I did 14 years in Law Enforcement before finally walking away and never looking back (and that was before the political climate fell off a cliff). Most of my friends who still do the job wish they could do the same. I'm now working as a Flight Instructor, making a third of what I did before, but I g...

What about the new duty time limits? https://tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/reference-centre/advisory-circulars/advisory-circular-ac-no-700-047#toc4_14 :( Please, if someone just done it, is it a new exams/themes ?... Thanks for the reply... I didn't even have a question relating to duty rest regulations...

Re: New Saron Questions?
Writing SARON and SAMRA next month, like everyone else just looking for some feedback from anyone who's written it recently. I've got sharper edge 2020 (anyone confirm if new duty regs are on the exam yet?), Aerocourse workbook and study reference guide, just looking for anything that tripped you up...

Re: What does the IATRA give you?
When you do an Integrated Program, you are required to complete MCC training as per the training phases approved by TC. (AC No 406-002 and CAR 426.75) Once you've completed the integrated program, you are able to write SARON/SAMRA right away (rather than waiting until you have 750 hrs) to get a quas...

Re: Maximum holding speed for a civil turboprop aircraft?
I believe what you're referring to is the old rules (attached) which were updated (in 2018 if I recall correctly) to what you're seeing in the AIM now. As usual, after a rule gets updated a lot of the reference material lags behind.

Re: Watch the disinfectant for aircraft cleaning
We ran into that issue where the plastic in the switches were slowly weakening and breaking due to the cleaning spray being used multiple times per day. Diamond Aircraft ended up releasing a Service Information Letter about it and now we only use Lysol wipes

I always found it amusing that you can smoke in the cockpit if the PIC says it's okay, but never in the lavatory

That’s a shocking amount of Canadians in one such place. Condolences. Jordanian news and other reliable sources reporting anti aircraft activity to blame. Sad situation indeed. Not really when you consider that the largest population of Ukrainians outside of Ukraine is here in Canada, and Orthodox ...

Guy at my school ran in CO problem one night while flying with his girlfriend, he wasn't feeling well but didn't want to say anything and it wasn't until she mentioned not feeling well that he realized something must be wrong for them to both not feel well and looked at the CO detector and noticed i...

Re: Turnaround time for first Aviation Medical
I managed to find the number for the actual Dr and called her, had my medical sorted out in a day with M.C. cut out of the middle. Three months later and still waiting. I did as you mentioned last month and I believe it somewhat helped push my file to Ottawa for review. I've since given additional ...

Re: Turnaround time for first Aviation Medical
I've now been waiting five months for mine That long? Did you have to do any further testing for the sleep apnea or are you just waiting from your first submission? I didn't have to do any additional testing, they did request additional information which I had sent to them the same day it was reque...

Re: Turnaround time for first Aviation Medical
I have sleep Apnea and have been waiting 4 months on my Cat I. I think it depends on what region you're in. Atlantic region seems extremely slow, and they refuse to answer phone calls, voicemails, or e-mails.

Re: Any past or current law enforcement/RCMP/Police turned CPL's?
I went through the same debate years ago, eventually settled on law enforcement mostly because I couldn't afford flight training. Spent 13 years in law enforcement, finally had enough and regretted not pursuing flying... I'm starting my CPL this Aug now, guess the aviation bug was too strong.

Just wondering what the RML position at PAL is all about, and what aircraft is being operated. Just a Bird dog pilot looking at moving onto an airline operation. Cheers That's the medevac operations under the PAL Aerospace division. The current job ad is for St John's, so would be their Cessna Cita...

I had not heard of this book before, just read through chapter one on energy management and I like how he explains things, so thanks for the recommendation.
