Re: Convert Canadian CPL to EASA
I'm currently almost done with this process. You will need to have completed an ATPL course, then go pass all 13 exams at your CAA of choice. You only get 6 exam sessions to complete them, 18 months max to finish all 13 from the date of your first exam, and a maximum of 4 attempts on a subject. Fail...

ME/IR currency
Can you get your PPC/Group 1 currency back in a simulator in Canada? My current situation is I'm converting my ME/IR to EASA, and the flight test examiner in Europe requires a current flight check report from Canada no older than 1 year back. My initial flight test for the Group 1 was early in 2020 ...

Re: Working Abroad is the Only Way I can Justify A Career as a Pilot.
First off, don't let all the pathetic old boomers on here discourage you. They feed off "back in my day" delusions and think everyone has to suffer in this career path or they aren't worthy. Not to mention these stupid notions that aviation is a career of "passion for flying" and you have to do "an...

Re: So everyone is leaving?
Looks like lately everyone I know that flies wants to leave this country. It’s depressing. Left Canada in September as a 300 hour pilot with CPL and Group 1. I'm halfway through my ATPL exams in Warsaw with 7 more to go. Many F/O positions are up for grabs after the conversion process is complete. ...

Admission for CPL Flight Test
For those of you who do not know, admission for the CPL Flight test prior to successfully writing the CAPER written exam was allowed due to the CARS exemption up until December 31st 2020. Here is the TC link to that exemption: https://www2.tc.gc.ca/CivilAviation/regserv/Affairs/exemptions/docs/en/33...

Commercial Pilot Written Exam Preparation
Hey everyone, I just passed the INRAT with 80% and now its time to write the commercial written. Would really appreciate if some of you could share your experience with preparing for this test. What study material out there did you use, that you found to be the most effective to prepare you? What st...

Re: Help with my upcoming INRAT exam
Read the RAC Section in the AIM. Very important, as there are many IFR regulation questions on the INRAT. Expect x-country questions. Know your alternate weather minimums. There is one version of the exam that has zero alternate questions, but you should still know them, as the rest of the exams do....

Re: Question for Brampton students
Hi. Brampton is at full training capacity. The college students have booking priority, and they have fights reserved in the mornings, which isn't helpful. Typically, you want to schedule your flights at least a month in advance, if you want to fly in daylight. Booking anything within 2 weeks is poss...

IFR Written Exam
Hi everyone, I am nearing the completion of my intrument rating, and I’ve been told I cannot continue my flight training until I have passed the INRAT. I have taken the weekend Aercourse classes, and I have found that to be a lot of information to process in just 3 days. From what I have heard, the ...

Aviation Document Booklet
Hi everyone I am new here. I applied for my private pilot license and my aviation document booklet in Toronto. I was never told how long the processing would take and I do not know when to expect my booklet to come in the mail. I submitted my application 19th of July. Any information would be great,...
