It doesn't happen often, but the main issue is the fear of the unknown. If I fly another carrier into YYZ, I plan on adding an hour for my commute back downtown from the time I land. If I'm expecting to land at the island and don't, I've just lost all the convenience I've paid for, plus I'm arriving...

I know a few people who have flown Porter and they love the service, lounge, convenience...... But, last winter those same people were diverted to YYZ when they couldn't get into YTZ because of Wx. Unfortunately, a few of them are reluctant to fly with Porter again when the Wx looks "iffy". What are...

Hedley,

I'm surprised you can get that inflated head of yours into that tiny little cockpit of yours.

Honestly, you come across as a guy who never quite made it in the industry. You seem to think anybody who doesn't fly upside down isn't a "real" pilot. Get a grip.

A little off topic, but I will be flying on Porter soon and I have a couple of questions. What are the mins for the new approach to 26 and if you can't get into YTZ do you use YYZ as the Alt? Also, where do you drop off the pax at YYZ. Thanks for any info.

I would seriously reconsider sending your books to The YYZ office. I had my books there for 90 days and ended up with no ATPL. Took my books to HQ in YOW, that afternoon walked out with my ATPL. Good luck.

The writing was on the wall as soon as the pilots started whispering the "U" word.

Good luck to all. (Except KR)

Charter aircraft question

Does anyone know of a company in YYZ that has an aircraft available for charter that seats apprx 40 pax. The leg would be no greater than 1200nm.

Thanks.

I understand that this is the second round of interviews. Does anyone know how many pilots were hired on the first go-around?

From the sound of things, Jazz sounds like a good place to work (other than the pay of course).

If pay wasn't an issue, are there any other problems at Jazz that would give one cause for concern.

Can anyone shed some light on what Jazz's future plans are? (routes, A/C expansion, etc)

Thanks much.

I was told $40K for FO's. Regardless, $40-45K is where I thought the salaries would be. Unfortunately for us pilots, its competetive with whats out there right now. I do believe this airline will be a success, they really have their sh## together. And who knows, when Porter really starts to take-off...

It appears the pilot simply got embarrassed when he basically was told to "shut up" and to try and save face he asked for the tapes to be pulled.

The controller was probably out of line, however, the pilot should have "thicker skin", flying ain't for babies.
