Re: CARGO ATTENDANT TO F.O POSITION

I know a couple of people who worked at AC while getting their training completed. Some even managed to hold on to their jobs at AC for a while once they moved up north to work for a small airline. Unfortunately the game has changed since then and the major benefit that they experienced (pension buy...

Re: First Year Air Canada Pay

Other than the 320 in most of the entry level positions $50000 is highly unlikely. As an RP or EMJ F/O the minimum hours are more like 70 to 75 as a block holder which amounts to 65 to 67 hours as a reserve pilot. The per diems are much better on the overseas routes and they are far more than you ne...

Re: New Contract thread

I think the new contract gives people the illusion that it is not that bad of a contract because the first two year pay has gone up but there is a potentially large reduction in pay in year 3 and 4 (presuming you can hold 320 f/o by then which is very likely right now). For those not on the property...

Re: April 16th positions

To give you an actual answer to your question.
All of these are subject to change depending on the results of the April bid.
Most likely EMJ fo possibly YYZ only
Likely some relief spots also, 767 in YYZ, and possibly 330 and 777 in YVR

"It is a myth that condones the perpetuation of the subjugation of the human rights of the minority (older members of a bargaining unit) to the will of the majority (younger members of a bargaining unit). Worse, the majority usually has a critical personal economic interest in depriving the minority...

Re: Air Bravo

Capt. 2000tt, FO. 500tt
Promisary note in lieu of money.
Pay is pretty good for the a/c type.
Schedule is not so good (on call 24hr/day) but pretty typical of a medevac operation.
Not the greatest place to work but good for building time and a good mix of flying into different airports.

Re: Thunder MU2 in Atikokan

Trey Kule perhaps you show heed your own advice and stick to the facts. The runway was notamed ploughing in progress not closed. I don't know where you fly but it is probably in Southern Ontario because up north there are rarely cancelling notams there are just notams that eventually replace them. O...

Re: PC12 UPGRADES TO BIGGER MACHINES

I think all and all it depends on who is doing the hiring and what kind of operation it is for. Lurch - by your rationale a PC-12 driver would be a better hire than a Q-400, 777, Lear, or any other glass, multi AC because they require less PDM because they don't have to worry about engine failures. ...

Re: Air Canada reciprical, what are the rules about who gets

I am pretty sure that the way it works is the person who listed first gets priority but if you both listed on the same day then it goes to whoever checked in first. I feel for you, I have had people try and scoop me too by trying to talk to the captain first luckily the captain gave me the seat anyw...

Re: Sunwing- Hiring Pilots from Germany

I think that the point of this whole topic is that pilots get pissed off that Canadian companies complain to the government that there aren't enough skilled workers in Canada and that they need to let more immigrants in to fill the job. In the airline industry, like many other industries, there are ...

Wondering if anyone can give me some information on the best way to get a job at NAC is. I will be moving to thunder bay and was wondering if it is best to drop off resumes every so often and who the best person to see would be. I am looking to get a job on the ramp to start. Does anyone know if the...
