The floats in question, are Model 8750. The hydraulic hoses that Wipaire uses are Aeroquip 2807 PTFE that are commercial grade non Mil-Spec hoses with "super gem" commercial reusable steel hose fittings. Floats are new since install at Wipaire in 2017 with 82.0 HRS total time. Hose leakage is noted ...

Re: E license after M training
The AME licensing system is outdated and flawed! It's a large part why companies find it hard to find qualified people. As an example, go explore MSI-18R6 issued March 15,2005. It is titled AME Licensing Procedures and if you read Section 5.6, 6.1(c), and 6.4 you will find that SFAR 41C Commuter air...

TRU Maintenance Training
Anybody completed any maintenance training with TRU? Specifically, how does their training compare to Flight Safety? I have completed numerous courses with FSI Wichita but the TRU training will be new to me. Thanks!

You won't see this girl flying again for a while yet! My best guess would be summer or fall 2012. More damage found on disassembly and in my opinion she should have been written off!

Re: De-icing boot sealant [ around the edges ]
Goodrich Deicer Installation and Maintenance manual will provide you with what you need to know and the correct consummables to use! They will refer to it as a edge filler. Don't forget to apply the conductive cement. This will help prevent static buildup on the leading edges that contribute to pinh...

Re: Starting a PT6 with bleeds open?
The model B200 and B300 require engines to be started with Enviro off during starts to prevent possible damage to flow packs. It is acceptable to start with Pneumatics on with no risk of warmers starts.

There is no tbo on small, privately registered piston aircraft. So they don't need to go on condition. That is correct. CAR Standard 625 APPENDIX "C" (6) "No hard time, including calendar time, between overhauls need be observed in the case of small aircraft reciprocating engines in non-commercial ...

There are defined small, medium, and large patches that are found in Goodrich deicer repair kits. This is what they refer to. Example 74-451-187 are small patches found in the 74-451-AA repair kit. Don't quote me on those part numbers, but that is what they are talking about. If you are going to rep...

Q400 Gear Problems
Anybody have any comment on this? Is there really a design problem or is it just maintenance that is being performed incorrectly? If it is corrosion related, then what may be causing it? Are they pressure washing the gear with an incompatable chemical? Are they using the wrong consummable products f...
