Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?

The reason they let this go is because all other contract provisions were made equal across the pilot group. Same benefits same allowances same perdiems. The group took a hit in order for the new hires to have everything else in line with the remainder of the group. The justification in the wage rat...

Re: AC and Jazz Amend CPA

This new deal Air Canada made with Jazz still sucks. Air Canada should of tried to cut more from them they're still paying way to much for the service they get. New airplanes in 2011 whats up with that? Air Canadas gotta replace the 320's by then. If there getting Q400s all the rjs should be moved b...

Re: JAZZ REFUSES TO PAY ITS PILOTS PROPERLY!!!!!

the MONEY is the biggest joke in the industry......Apparently we are not professionals....We are with the likes of uneducated street sweepers or garbage men, or secretaries....You can make more money delivering Pizza....I make 950 every 2 weeks take home...650 on average/month food allowance...tota...

I must say it is pretty interesting hearing everyones point of view. You must admit that even though the companies are seperate entities they are in fact the same. You can not look through a page of Air Canadas' financial reports and not see the word Jazz or vice versa. The only reason they are sepe...

Is it even legal for a Canadian company to do CPA work for an American company or the other way around? I don't think so.

Just my opinion.

Pilot Recruitment

Any word on when mainline is going to start interviewing Jazz candidates again.

Anyone have any stats on how many mainline has hired so far and how many more are forecasted to be hired.

How much longer will it last

Well things have been pretty good in Canada since AC started hiring in 2005.

Anyone have any stats on how many hired so far and how many more to go before things start to slow down again.

I remember back in 2000 when people were saying there was no end in sight. Then it all came to a hault.

"If you wanted to "reap the benefits" as you say - you should have pursued mainline." Actually I made the move years ago, lived through Michnick and Keller and want to enjoy the next phase of my career. I don't want to come off "preaching" but sometimes you have to look outside the box before one c...

I can't believe people are so negative.

Do you think anyone from Canadian would of ever thought they would be part of Air Canada one day.

In this industry you never know what could happen.

Johny767 you have to agree there are pros and cons for the company in letting this happen.

Re: Jazz Call for Interview

The specific information I would like to know is what is the most likely base in the near future? What would commuting from out west ( say Regina maybe) be like to that base? If anyone does this sort of a commute what would you say on average it might cost you in a month? And how often in that mont...

Hey Martin,

Did you ask the head guys if the company would let the unions merge if there were to be an agreement?

"Money Talks, Bullshit Walks".....Westjet only became an attractive career move when they got their new pay scale last year. 90k per year in your 3rd year versus 50K per year at Jazz is not even close.....Jazz needs to realize that people will continue to leave because the pay is severly outdated.....

KAG I understand you frustration, I like yourself paid my dues beyond belief to get a position with Jazz and it took 7 years after I gratuated from college but you have to understand that for the company to make decisions like this there has to be some type of reasoning behind it. As for the capabil...

It truly is a crapshot one month they called me on 5 of my days off to come in for overtime and the next month I received no calls. So it really does depend on the month. The salary is really a minum guarentee based on 75 hours a month. Once you're off reserve you are averaging 80 to 85 hours a mont...

You seem bitter to be at Jazz. Why don't you just go at AC and be happy. New hires at AC got their credentials straight and probably said no to Jazz cuzz they wanted to go mainline. I don't deserve your third list or to be below you in any way to make you happier. You guys make me sick. What a bunc...

Is this not a fair solution for both sides? Playing Devil's Advocate here: Assume all AC narrow-bodied aircraft are transferred to Jazz (don't ask me how, or that it will never happen; let's just assume that it will happen); are you saying that pilots who were flying A320s at the mainline will now ...
