Re: Is transport Canada closed

If you're looking to write a test you're SOL. I know a few guys that can't write their INRATs because TC isn't doing examinations.

Re: Could this be the pin to pop the housing bubble?

Sadly I doubt it, now the BoC has cut interest rates to induce borrowing I'm sure things will actually get worse.

Re: Reviews? Moncton or Stratford or Brantford

Honestly expect that it'll take two years to do everything. Availability of planes and instructors and planes is by far the biggest problem everywhere. I didn't train at Stratford, I trained at Waterloo-Wellington, but I did my CPL flight test with Andy at Stratford. He's a great instructor and a re...

Re: No Bailout for Bombardier

It's too bad Longview couldn't just take over the A220 project like they did the Q400. I'm sure a monkey on a unicycle has better business sense than BBD upper management.

Re: Am I too old to be a commercial pilot?

I did the same thing at 30. I did IT for ten years then went back and became a pilot. Two years later I just had my CPL signed off and I'm writing my INRAT next week.

It's hard but it'll be worth it in the end.

I've had vastly different checklists and that's just between two different Canadian flight schools.

What about Halifax? Does anyone have any experience living there and flying with the majors?

Airlines and living in Newfoundland

250 hour wonder here so this will only matter in a few years. We're looking to move back to the east coast and really fell in love with St. John's. I'm just wondering if there are any long term jobs that can be based out of YYT or if you're always going to be commuting to Halifax for all your flying...

Sorry but the only flight school there is GFT and they don't do a float rating.
