I don't think there are any true Aviation Degrees in Canada. All that I see are Aviation "management" or aviation "technology"....most of these are actually business degrees with an aviation theme...I mean come on, what is Aviation Technology??.....If you want a Business Degree get a Business degree...

Exactly...why can't an Aviation univeristy just as reputable as something like UBC or SFU....like a school that every pilot aims to get in....ie, a symbol of excellent training and education combined.

Canada- Why is there no True Aviation university/college?

Why does Canada not have a school completely dedicated to Aeronautics?....It is always a surprise when relatives come over to Boundary Bay, or Pitt Meadows to see where pilots do their training. Many schools smaller than the average home. Why does Canada not have big operations with full motion sims...

that sounds exciting...you can do the same thing with a 172 too eh?...so what do you do?...one hand on the yoke and the other pushing the door out?......you need to push the nose down to keep airspeed right?

Well my first solo was in a Glider SGS-233A @ Comox...it was unforgetable....I failed my pre solo ride 2 times..that means 1 more time and I was going home...It was just so emotional...I singing and screaming the whole 13 mins!!...Good Times...

Hi Lommer How many courses do you take per semester in University?.... Sometimes it gets confusing whether you should spend so much time in flight training...since the atmosphere on this forums says its really hard to find the first job...and I'm not really the kind of person that is very good at me...

I agree with Naked, its no good unless u do the entire liscence, which might not be worth it if your not in the Cadets. althought I have not been gliding for a while, I really enjoy it, like said earlier u have to plan ahead, something as simple as turning left or right, its fun! I have a couple fun gliding experiences where i was trying to build time in the air, wasn't that bad of a day, but usually flights were 17m...

I was one of the many that got their Glider Liscence before PPL thru the Air Cadet Program, to me gliding was a hell a lot of fun, more fun than flying, it does take more skill...and you really have to be more consious about where you are in relationship of the airport etc, u really have to hold air...

Didn't a "foreign" pilot die not too long ago because no one would give him medical attention because they wanted to make sure they would be paid??...its stupid....stick around in Canada......ur life expectancy will go up by a few years atleast

About time eh......the schools right now look quite shabby compared to anywhere in the rest of the world... in order for the airport to have a more international image they gotta expand their flight schools...train more pilots especially pilots from india and china on a larger scale, which means cam...
