Re: Iskwew Air
They had a sign up on the south side earlier in the year. The sign is no longer there. I know nothing aside from that. Maybe they just moved.

Re: Pasco Callbacks
I had a phone screening for an FO position in February. I had the minimum hour requirement but no multi or IFR experience so wasn't real surprised when it didn't go beyond that.

I interviewed in January and it was around 900/week on the 337, accommodations paid for. Schedule was something like 23 on/5 off

I also recommend PPIP. Although I'm not sure if they cover PPL. They were 1/8th the price of a few others that I talked to. I pay $34/month as a commercial pilot.

Re: Montair Aviation
I went to their Red Deer base and inquired about finishing my CPL (I'm a local). Told me outright they don't train locals, well, they would maybe consider it if you stayed on for a predetermined length of time.

Re: Got my first flying job
I have no idea! But I like to stay optimistic and hope that rapid global airline expansion and boomer pilots retiring will keep the jobs coming.

Re: Got my first flying job
Thank you all for the kind words. Career wise, I've always been interested in utility type flying; bush, surveillance, crop dusting, fire fighting etc. However, the pilots I know are all moving up in the airlines at an unprecedented rate. I suppose I'll just see what types of opportunities are avail...

Got my first flying job
210hrs TT, no IFR, no multi. Flying pipeline. Everyone told me it wasn't possible to get a job with the bare minimums. It is possible!! The thing is, they didn't even have a position posted. I just went to talk to them one day (even before I had my license) and introduce myself, unsolicited, and ask...

Re: Skywing Aviation - Red Deer Opinions?
I did my PPL there a few years ago, and did some further training this year. The instructors are time builders; no actual industry experience. Not to say they are bad instructors, some are good at their job, some not so good. I'm sure they are the lowest paid instructors in the industry so its not s...
