Re: Unsuccessful AC Interview
Thank you everyone for the advice. For added information, I've been with Jazz for 4.5 years, recently upgraded. Folks at my seniority that applied in Jan got AC GS dates in Oct. I missed the application window and had to apply in Apr, not sure if that mattered since my interview was unsuccessful any...

Unsuccessful AC Interview
Hey All, I was pretty confident about my AC interview as I was well prepared but here's an exert from an email I received last week: "Our hiring board has determined that you did not successfully pass our interview and as such, we will be contacting you to schedule a second interview (with the possi...

Re: Realistic TT for Jazz or Encore?
Hello, I have an aviation degree, had just above 800TT, 100 multi turbine. Disclaimer, I fit one of the minority boxes. I went through the hiring process for both Jazz and Encore in fall 2018. Placed in hiring pool for both, Encore insisted they will only hire me once I passed the 1000TT threshold, ...

Re: Handing in resumes N. Ontario - decent operators to visit?
Have you considered North Star?
Friend of mine flies a PC12 for them in Thunderbay and Pickle Lake. 2 week on 2 week off.
Fresh CPLs spend time on the ramp to get this position, not sure if they hire direct FOs. I believe they also fly C208s.
Goodluck!

Re: New hire bids
Might be a silly question but let’s say I wanted a specific base and did not get it, can I eventually bid for it? If so, how long would the wait typically be?
Do people ever switch to a different aircraft type?
Thanks

Re: hiring factors (older entry level pilots)
The question wasn’t how financially viable is it to start a pilot career at the age of 40. I’m sure someone looking at a second career is capable of looking up salaries and determining whether it is good enough to invest their time and money into it. Pepsi seems overly negative about aviation but it...

Re: Flying skills while on the ramp
I was given about 10 hours of sim training prior to my check ride on a King Air 200 for a 703 operator. By the end of it I was confident I’d pass the check ride. It had been 4 months since I last flew and 10 since my last MIFR ride. I got a flying gig(not on the BE20) straight out of flight school a...

Re: Pacific Coastal Airlines
I have a question about PasCo. I’m in Edmonton and just started building PIC doing pipelines. But I’m from Vancouver Island and ultimately want to work with someone like Pacific so that I can live my west coast lifestyle and fly for a good company long term. My question is, I know they have posted ...

Re: Brampton Flight Centre 1 Year College Diploma Program
To my knowledge Sault and Seneca students get to Jazz faster because they offer cadet programs. Students who complete the program and do well on their sim eval at the end are put into the hiring pool at Jazz. Aside from those students, everyone else is in the same boat regardless of which school the...

Hey AvCanadians, I'm looking for current (2018) information about work environment, management, and any other important info for someone thinking of working at Pasco. I've read in other threads that you have to find your own accomodation on overnight pairings, is this true? Also, for the interview a...
