Re: Carson Air

Anybody know what the 350 captain job in YVR pays? I think it depends on experience. Recent hires are coming in at about $80/85k. IIRC $2500/yr raise to a maximum of ?? Citation is on scale $75k to start, with $5k raises up to ~$100k. again, that's negotiable coming in, depending on experience.

Funny thing about that ^ I'd stake a fair amount that the people whining about that expenditure wouldn't be doing so if their party of choice had come out on top..

Re: Pilot Shortage

More communist style central planning I see. Is that what the People’s Republican Party wants? It’s so insidious how the far right by their actions actually imitates the far left. You act as if it’s taxpayers money buying foreign oil when it’s nothing of the sort. Wanting a government to force a pr...

Re: Mandatory PCR Test and 3 Day Hotel Quarantine

From an article I read, too lazy to post the link: “U.S. President Joe Biden said Tuesday the U.S. will aim to vaccinate every adult in the nation by the end of May, two months earlier than previously expected.” I have a friend who works at a medical clinic within about a 15 minute drive of the bor...

Always intersting to listen to people complain about the cost of doing things/infrastructure in Canada, yet completely discount the geographical and population realities of this country: 2nd in land mass, 38th in population

Hmm, who to listen to here? Three guys with a bunch of instructing time between them, or a dogmatic crank with a ghoulish fascination with accident reports??

As a couple others have stated. This can easily be any of the thousands living off CEWS or EI from any of the 705/704 etc. So what if they pursue this van lifestyle, many are moving towards the mini-homes due to prices of houses and the lack of pay. As another poster stated, most of the original Sw...

HI, AHerrera, posting under a pseudonym here.. I've been taking an SSRI for the better part of the last two years; it took me a year to 'get my medical back' after initially starting the meds. Now I'm on a 2-crew medical - I can fly either PIC or SIC, but there has to be someone sitting beside me. i...

Is there a 2020 or 2019 update to this? Does anyone have a copy, please?

[Or, should I just take the '17 numbers and add, say, 2%/yr?]

Thanks!.

disregard the 'nattering nabobs of negativism' - you'll do fine. I wouldn't go advertising the fact that you've used in the past - it *is* a competitive process to get into AC, and you never know what yould be the (negative) tipping point. To the best of my knowledge, there's no polygraph or anythin...

Re: DEC

Trouble with coming in DEC would be that as FO's already at Jazz who are getting their ATPL's upgrade they will continue to parachute in above you until eventually your seniority is reached and you start to climb. No telling how long that would last for, how fast FO's are getting ATPLs etc. Wouldn'...

We'll lose our career certainty, When I did my PPL, my basic instructors were guys/gals who were on a layoff from AirCanada; look at the guys/gals who worked for the Alberta provincial Air service or the Manitoba Provincial air service - career jobs all, with 'certainty'...
