Re: Strike vote
To our brothers and sisters at Air Canada: You now have the clear opportunity to send a message to the profiteering corporate d!psh!ts in management who constantly laud themselves with unrealistic and despicable wage and bonus plans off of your backs. Listen to your MEC representation and leaders. A...

Re: SkyCare Overrun at Atikokan
Landed there many times in rain, snow, uphill, downhill whatever... Never been an issue and never once questioned the safety of that place. Funny how the crew claims they landed in exactly the first 3rd with 70 knots of airspeed. 2000 odd feet they could have coasted to a stop with the headwind comp...

Re: Companies that will buy out bonds
"Training bonds" 🤣🤣🤣.... 1) Don't sign one. Companies that still subscribe to this form of so-called pilot retention are companies that you need to avoid. 2) For those of you dumb enough to have signed one, not to worry, they're not legally enforceable for various reasons. Just quit and move on to a...

Re: CBC - A shortage of pilots is making travel chaos in Canada even worse
It's a staff written article by the state sponsored media outlet known as the CBC. It's a double negative attempt at shifting blame away from Justin Trudeau when the JT has nothing to do with the current job market for drivers. This current situation has been brewing for the last 15+ years fueled by...

Just curious, was that flight the return leg of the 2leg red-eye that Flair sometimes operate ? Sure was Ouuuch!!!!! This is with one crew? If that's the case fatigue is definitely the primary issue. Nice to know that Flair operates their business model like a 703 would. Folks enjoy your $69 ticket...

Meanwhile the Swedes want to sell us Gripen's tomorrow and will go as far as open sourcing them and letting us build as much as we want of them. Absolutely none of this is in the article, so I'm curious what part of your anatomy you pulled it from. What leads you to think the process wouldn't be in...

Re: Sunwing union opposes Canadian carrier's plans to hire foreign pilots
This sounds like the same old Sunwing song and dance where they are abusing the Temporary Foreign Workers Act because they can't find "qualified" pilots i.e. guys that they don't have to pay a 737 type rating for? Pathetic. The fact that they are offering 75% above hard fought pay agreements is simp...

Good to see that there are still at least two constants in the aviation universe.... The White's and their delusions of what acceptable pay is and UNIFOR's seemingly drunken stuper approach to advocating for their members.

Re: Looks like Porter is trying to poach Jazz EMB Capts
I believe that most imported from Sky caps at Jazz would go willingly, especially with a better package being offered by Porter and fly brand new birds instead of the old clapped out original ACA EMB's. If that sparks a long overdue bidding war for pilots in this country, so be it. They will be the ...

Absolutely common practise. The PPC sim ride is effectively an IFR validation, don't waste your money otherwise.

There's not a lot out there on these guys which is probably a good thing. From my sources I'm told they are a good place to gain some good experience. They don't have an experience requirement so much as an image or "type" that they hire as entry level folks these days.... I.E. if you look like a fresh-faced androgenously multi-racial non-binary human who still has mother's milk on their face..... You're in!

These days of employers demanding what they want are over. Pony up or get out. That said, downtown Toronto is full of morons. I'm sure there is a weak minded, failed out regional pilot who still has a good PPC on a PC12 that will sign up to this. You couldn't pay me enough to drive into downtown Tor...

Re: Air Canada to cancel more than 9500 flights this summer …
I'm going to start saying this alot.... The race to the bottom is over. Staff shortages are everywhere soup to nuts especially in aviation because noone wants the high costs to get in (flight training) and/or the crap pay sanctioned by execs and eaten up by all involved. $400 round trip fares from Y...

There was a guy at the flight school back in the day who insisted on doing everything in the solitary 172s model that was available. Net result - he paid more than I did and flew less, I was done sooner and got the jump on my career start which to this day has paid dividends. Not once have I ever ha...
