Re: NEM election
Ken is a MEC cheerleader. If you want to keep "parting out" and tearing holes in the fabric of a legacy that was --80 years in the making-- by generations of former Air Canada pilots, he's your guy for sure. This Membership certainly either has a proven appetite for shredding what's left based of t...

Re: COVID MOA 2
I kinda sorta see where Tony is coming from. Maybe the approach isn’t the most tactful, but the message he’s trying to deliver is sound. I’m one of the 600. I no longer have a voice. At least he seems to have my interests somewhat in mind, unlike ACPA. “What have they done for me lately?” What has ...

Lots of interviews going on. I have one coming up. I know a few other Jazz people who have interviewed recently. My one buddy just did one and the HR rep said they are hiring 200 people before Christmas. Call back times seem to be around 1 month.

Re: Missing airplane on flight from Penticton to Edmonton
Okay, if you wish. If you are in the clag, going slow and following the highway, why on earth wouldn't you just land on that long stretch of highway there? That is why precautionary landings are taught for the license. Roll the timeline back 20 minutes, and why not land at Revelstoke? Were you ther...

Re: Sim Eval 2018
I think the point shouldn't be centred around which aircraft is the easiest to pass in the sim, or which aircraft is the most taxing to fly. Instead, I think it should be centred on which aircraft is the most conducive to developing good piloting knowledge and skills for a low-time pilot. In my opi...

Re: Sim Eval 2018
Do you have support for those comments? It's got nothing to do with what someone thinks is "better" about the airplane (or broadly thinks about their fellow pilots). It's about what is better for the prospective candidate to ensure the best opportunity for success. The support is in the comment you...

Re: Sim Eval 2018
If you're like any of the other low time college hires I've flown with, I'm not worried. Word of advice, ignore the haters. At training, in the hotel etc. you'll likely get a bit of chirps even if they are in a "nice way." Just put your head down, work your ass off, minimize the time you spend at t...

Re: Sim Eval 2018
I don't mind flying with 250 hour guys as long as they have a good attitude and realize that they wont be doing any of the challenging approach/landings. The only thing I am not a fan of is doing stand up after stand up and being bagged and having the responsibility as a captain to ensure safe opera...

Lol no tail between my legs here! I've been very busy working on my WingNut Airspeed Indicator system. After the testing in California two weeks ago I'm confident of the model so now I'm working on the display aspect. The LED strips were okay, but the next step is to get the HUD working. So far, I ...

Re: Best course of action for this individual?
I choose jazz because if I got pfo’d, it seemed to be the best regional career choice. I did get pfo’d and I am at Jazz for my career. 2.5 years in an I’m an RJ captain in Vancouver. Would I rather be at AC? Yes, but this ain’t so bad either.
