I was under the impression that the aircraft did not overrun. Early reports indicated it slid off to one side. I could be wrong, just guessing at this point I guess. We did have some light rain on and off during the day. Perhaps this, combined with the crosswind made for a nasty hydroplane, viscous,...

Flight ops and airlaw were all very basic in the exam I had, as was performance. Weather was again very basic. The only thing you may not be familiar with is the jet stream. You will get jet stream questions, know where and how CAT forms and how to avoid it. Basically the only things you might not h...

Hey, I am about 5 months into the Nac groundschool for the frozen ATPL, headed over to complete the medical in about 2 months. I hope you will enjoy it whatever school you decide to do it with. Keep in mind it is very difficult and requires a lot of your time and energy. Not to be rude but make sure...

Actually, I know the one of the drivers in question and can tell you he is a very good pilot. I will let you continue to ponder your question as to why there is a maximum landing weight. This way when you do find your answer the fruits of your labor will taste that much sweeter. Oh yeah I almost for...

Not long depending on your motivation. Written (two if I remember, com/IFR) are not bad. You can combine the flight tests,(multi commercial and multi IFR) it makes for a long day. The pre flight oral is what you need to be prepared for, most of the examiners can smell BS from a mile away. Bout 6k US...

PRO IFR in Vancouver. They are up to date on all conversions and brilliant with paperwork so no worries there. Airplanes are nice and instruction is great. Best school in Canada, (My opinion of course). It just so happens it is also located in the most beautiful city in Canada. You won’t regret it. ...

Inverted flat spin in a 152 !!!!! I would have needed a new pair of trousers. I have heard a story or two about this in a Pitts. Although, I do not believe the pilot was even intending to do a spin. Maybe CofG panic and forward stick at the wrong time??? Sounds like and adventure... How many ...

I still remember it like it was yesterday first time doing spins with what I now know was a "green" instructor. Lightly loaded 152 I was aggressive on the entry, he panicked and crammed the throttle home after the first rotation. Shook his head pulled it to idle and told me to recover. Did not say a...

Another thought or two on the BFC, I personally found the pricing to be on the high side. Most of the equipment in the ac did not work, yes the AC are very safe and well maintained but not necessarily the cleanest or aesthetically pleasing out there. My biggest problem there was the lack of a proper...

Hi, I have trained in Florida the last two winters. The weather is great, planes and prices are not bad either. An FAA restricted ppl is not hard to get based on your canadian qualifications. Just beware you cannot log any dual time toward TC mins. And dont forget to get your log book stamped on all...
