Re: Strike outcome desires
Watching ALPA fire up their Strike(-less) Center is hilarious. A room full of pilots who’ve never actually struck pretending to be busy. We all know what’s coming: Airline drops a “final & best” offer in a couple days during "Peak Leverage"→ ALPA leadership recommends it → two-week timeshare present...

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair
Year 1-4 pay as a percentage took the largest pay increases of all in 2024. Entry pay has surpassed the 2003 inflation adjusted rates. Everything else just barely caught up Absolutely. It's not perfect for anyone in this place, but junior pilots certainly are not being ignored. Lol! Im sure junior ...

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair
Because we need to focus on the most gains in the higher tax brackets to make sure we collectively pay more taxes. More money for junior pilots is less taxes and thus bad. This is the same for quality of life gains. Government can't tax extra time off so bad...focus needs to be to get those large $$...

Literally nearly half of Toronto wears AC lanyards and I'd say 90% in Montreal lol
That's a whole lot of "management wannabes"
So I guess with that logic...are we doomed?
Maybe another RibFest and some more BlueJays games will really put the company on notice

Same troll accounts. No solutions, no specifics, only vague hollow accusations. Some are crying butthurt bitches, a few are management keyboard shit disturbers, they're all trying to bring dissent and tear apart ACA solidarity and reduce our chances going forward. 2027 is coming soon. If you want a...

Remember when ACPA said “we need unity so you need to support your reps”? Any dissent was dismissed as just an “angry minority.” Fast forward, and here we are again...same script, different logo. Criticism isn’t allowed. Call it what it is: ACPA 2.0. And we all know how that story ended. 2027’s déjà...

With narrowbody & reserve rules being among worst in the world, I would say you just avoid that all together. Unstacking is still rampant and I haven't seen much improvement since the new world class contract. So that leaves you with Widebody but being RP leaves you being the lowest paid global airl...

Re: Did Air Canada pilots really take concessions in this negotiating climate?
A union volunteer position is a very thankless job with many more hours not “paid” than what they might benefit from. I thought about running for a rep position long ago and realized, it’s not worth it and the reality is I would have been in hot water no doubt, I’m not afraid to tell someone that t...

As this "World Class Contract" ages like a rotten diarrhea dump fermenting in the tank of a B777 out of Delhi, what should the members that voted 'Yes' do? Resign? Get recalled? Go into hiding? Not as happy as we would have been if this had been a 10yr deal. Take solace in that. Some might say it’s not the deal you wanted or expected, but it maybe it’s the deal you needed to get you through the next few years. Remember the Americans have been following pattern bargaining for almost a deca...

Exactly. Even Castlegar used to be served by a 737-200 Pretty much all these places can accommodate a 220, 319 and some NG/MAXs depending payload, except probably Masset when it’s wet/standing water. Even if WestJet was going to do this and fly 737s into Castlegar which is laughable at best, wouldn...

So US ALPA pilot unions have been extremely successful in their campaigns without striking...why can't Canadian pilots with their better leverage under the Canadian Labour Code p...

Re: Reasons to come to Air Canada (… or not)
Why do so many people hate on “flat pay”? Flat pay is not the problem, it’s the amount they pay that’s the issue. Your initial pay should not be based on luck of the draw. You draw a 220 and buddy next to you gets the 777 on day one and makes a pile more. Type pay is actually stupid, what is actual...

Sorry to hear that dude. Rates are high right now also. Hope you can make it work. Thanks. If this new contract isn't great I will most likely be forced to leave in search of better pay/lower cost of living. I don't regret trying the whole AC thing its just not sustainable these days on flat pay wi...
