Re: The Return to Normal?

There really isn't a lot of positive news. Typically it doesn't attract as much attention, thereby creating as much profit, as the negative news cycle and worst cases.

Fingers crossed AC can get some traction in winter 2020/21, as they are the hiring engine in Canadian aviation.

Re: Boeing seeking $60 billion bail-out

Even if the economy was on track for major growth, as it was in December 2019, Boeing was in big trouble. This 60B is mostly to cover the fact they absolutely, and unequivocally dropped the ball with the Max. That money, once the cheque is cut, is going to turn into some golden parachutes, while the...

🤞🏻 Hopefully you guys can make big steps forward regardless of a slight downturn in the economy based on very recent performance.

Great timing for ACPA to start negotiating their 2020 opener...

Can we all say, arbitration?

Re: Circling Apporaches. Where did they go?

Where did they go?...are going? GONE , I hope. They are difficult to fly in poor conditions and maintain tolerances. They require intense crew coordination, often with inexperienced and low-time new co-pilots. They require a certain level of skill which is acquired over a long period of time, and m...

Re: No Bailout for Bombardier

The movie Money Pit with Tom Hanks comes to mind thinking of Bombardier and bailouts.

Well, they are now 8.2B richer after letting go of the rail division. So it looks like all they have to focus their energy on is business jets.

Let's see what they can do.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they are running the flight department a little lean due to the Max fiasco and potential risks of a downturn economy, that everyone keeps predicting but never seems to happen, thankfully.

C'est la vie.

Re: No Bailout for Bombardier

About time they finally crossed their arms and drew a line in the sand.

This news of BBD potentially selling the jets is such an unbelievable disappointment and a real kick in the teeth to Canadian aviation.

Canadian innovation: We build everything for a dollar and sell it for 50 cents, eh!
