Re: E2 Loads

In retrospect it does seem a worse than negotiating tactics, base closures are a pretty big deal and probably the bulk of the layoffs Base closures did not involve any flight crew layoffs. Options were provided through a letter to affected crews on moving bases, or accepting voluntary layoff/retire...

Re: E2 Loads

I hear you but you need to weigh the news against the fact groups are unionizing at Porter, this is very typical of companies about to negotiate with unions, times are tough blah blah blah. Seen it my whole life not just in aviation, grew up with union negotiations in my house, Dad was on strike at...

Re: YHZ and YQT

It shouldn't affect March, but there seems to be lots of restructuring happening as we adjust for U.S flying. That may affect ground schools on both fleets. For anyone coming in externally, I'm not sure what the composition of internal/externals will be for the first few ground schools, but it's bee...

I don't believe so, only a time between unsuccessful applications, which IIRC is 6 months.

No DECs expected for the foreseeable future, mostly focused on transferring remainder of interested Dash 8 crews.

Re: Emirates after AC

One can always define one's life as opulent, when one has access to debt. Most people have lots of nice things - but no one owns anything anymore. Getting back to the OP, it's tough to argue with the stability NA provides, particularly at a giant like AC. The culture may suck, but if you treat it li...

Hiring every month for the foreseeable future. Will be between 20-30 a month between both fleets till we hit around 1200 pilot. Currently sitting at about 850 Thanks for the reply. The recruitment page of the website says they will hire over 1200 pilots over the next 4 years. So I’m guessing that’s...

Thinking of leaving my current place. Not very safe maintenance wise. I’m standing at approx 3000TT +. 2200 hours of jet and 700 Jet PIC. I’d like to stay until I get past the 1000 Jet PIc mark, but I fear if the trend continues we are headed for something major. I know it’s all seniority based. Bu...

Normally on a crosswind touchdown it’s not right at the point of a stall with a flat pitch. Therefore the right wheel here, although it seems like almost a “three point”, took on all of weight (W). The wing’s W (most of the left as well, and tail downforce) is all unloaded (exactly straight down) o...

My previous post wasn’t meant to be disrespectful, sorry if it came across that way. I was just curious since you aren’t unionized, could things like training costs and perhaps YOS from a different carrier be negotiated prior to being hired. Dash transfers aren't even getting YOS. All initial hires...

Yes, TT and compentency are the only factors. If youre at 1500 hours will be 3 to 4 years. If you're closer to 4000, could be under 2 years. I think, I could be wrong but with how he worded the question, he is asking if he can go FO on a 1900, then Captain on the 1900 to the left seat of the E2. I’...
