Re: E2 new hires

As a new hire, you don't get to be hired at the base you apply for? (For example applying for the E2 in YVR) No, right now all hiring taking place will be to YYZ. YOW is already full up at the moment, with YUL to be announced soon. YVR will fill, most likely with internals as well with the folks wh...

Re: Considering jumping ship

Question for the folks who left Jazz for the E2 at Porter… was it worth it? Would you make the same choice again? The vast majority of people I encounter coming this direction from Jazz are pleased with the training, and positive work attitude. The E2 has a nice blend of Porter and the best of Mapl...

Re: Porter vs AC

It's easy to build growth into the payscales when everyone is year 2 or less on the E2 payscales. Why not just put year 12 at 300,000! Doesn't matter anyways no ones on year 12. Some are year 4 and 5 with the Dash carry over. I'll be year 3 this fall. You could say that about every new company, why...

Re: Porter vs AC

AC salary will go up this year, and flat pay will be 2 years at most, maybe 1 or none. Porter will aggressively bump as well, but at the end of the day a pilot is generally paid by size, and you'll be making a lot more at AC. Question is, 10 years down the road is a high seniority schedule at Porte...

Netjets....

Flying a Citation in the right seat, you're making a base salary of $153k USD.

Let that sink in.

Re: Porter vs AC

A lot of over promising and undelivering at time of hiring at AC these days to keep people coming through the doors. It's quite comedic actually. I just don't get the mentality of living for retirement alone, it's just so strange. Perhaps that makes the shortcomings and conditions tolerable; do your...

Re: Updated salary tables 2024

Thank you for the update, looks good now. Bigger delta than I originally thought for Porter and AC, we got work to do to close that gap a bit. Cheers. What sort of work do you propose we do? FOAG gives us 0 ability to pressure/use leverage. We’re along for the ride until the executives decide attri...

Re: Updated salary tables 2024

Let me know if there's any mistakes. Sourced this almost entirely from avcanada and Pilot Career Center. For AC, I couldn't find updated WB scales so I assumed a 2% raise every year from a post in 2022 that had the pay scale at the time. Doesn't include Nav or Overseas pay. It would be great to com...

Re: Updated salary tables 2024

This needs a complete update. Porter Captain's start at 190/hr or 171,000 min guarantee of 75 hours on the E2 - just below ACs and Westjet's current 737 rates. 5th year I believe, they blow through the 12 year pay of the 737. Hopefully AC ALPA can make some serious salary headway and give everyone ...

Re: Transat or Porter?

Porter's E2 utilization, and therefore operating economics, remain anemic. On Weds 27 March, Porter managed an average of just 6 hrs 31 mins airtime and 2.3 sectors a day out their 30 tail fleet, with an ASL of 1,274 miles, just 7% shorter than Flair's asl, who got 11hrs 48 mins out their Boeing fl...

Re: Which sh!tty operator is advertising internationally?

Makes me wonder what they'll try next when they realize nobody applies internationally either. Surely they won't have to increase salaries?? Oh there'll be applications my friend. It'll come from a very specific region in the world. Logbooks will likely be whipped, companies with fake type ratings ...

Re: YVR destinations

Where could we go with the range of this thing, mmmm. Considering the great-circle distance from YVR to Hawaii is 2350 NM, and the nominal range of the E2 in still winds is 2655 NM, I would bet not to Hawaii. As soon as there's a breath of wind or anything other than a direct routing it wouldn't be...

Re: E2 new hires

" Even with contract instructors" - meaning you believe they are a liability? We used to use Flight Safety instructors to establish the program. Flight Safety instructors, while very dedicated to facilitating technique and material don't fly the line, and aren't as familiar with the SOPs as used on...

Re: E2 new hires

Thank you for all your replies, so abit of a mixed scenario if Sim is done in Europe. With ground training what is graphical sim? Is that some sort of fixed based sim or something? IPT - procedures training. It's an all screen static trainer. 5 sessions IIRC. This is where your flows and SOPs are s...

Re: E2 new hires

Good afternoon fellow aviators, its my first time posting here and I tried earlier but for some reason I cant find it. Well perhaps this section will work. I have recently gotten an email from the company and looks like some training may happen in europe. My question is about the sim training, are ...

Re: Any plans for Socialized bidding?

I find it ironic that Porter pilots are extolling the virtue of seniority bidding, on the basis of a new hire getting the benefit of an expanding airline. This was the same argument that Flair pilots made during their growth phase, until it suddenly ground to a halt. Will Porter pilots still think ...

Re: New Pay Increase for DH4 Captains

The money from the E2s generally comes from accepting new tails, backend is inconsistently full on our routes, so I would hesitate to say they are making boat loads from passenger flying. It's likely breaking even right now as the brand establishes itself. Qs are good money when they are running. Bo...
