Seems most of the Ontario based college programs are struggling to meet timelines for flying due to staff instructor shortfalls. Some are subcontracting out portions of flight training syllabus to third party flight training institutions. Not sure if this will affect program intake numbers for fall...

If you are worried about medical conditions nothing prevents you from going for a CAT 1 medical right now. You dont need to be enrolled in any flying training or anything. Find a CAME (Civil Aviation Medical Examiner) and make an appointment. They'll answer all your questions (for a fee of course)....

I've seen some smart university grads and stupid "how did you ever graduate elementary school" uni grads. I've seen great pilots with degrees but I've also seen greater pilots without degrees. This is all relative. Education is but proof that one is committed and capable of finishing a complex task or goal. I have absolutely no problem with airlines preferring degrees, but where I do have a problem is where an experienced pilot without post secondary education is passed over for someone ...

The general opinion is to get the multi-IFR. After reading the responses I went on the "jobs" page and learned pretty quick how valuable it is.
