Re: And so it Begins
I know some guys that worked for Dan part time during covid and let's just say I don't think he ever has problem with work coming in.

Re: Hiring DEC's
I hope so too. The junior FO pay is average, but after about year 2 they're left in the proverbial dust behind SW, and light years behind the new contract at TS. Year 4+ FO and Capt scales aren't remotely comparable between companies. I'd like to hear some speculation on what the new contract will b...

Re: Union at Sky
You got it. Not only that, but the majority of employees voted against the introduction of 4-day pairings. Despite this, management said "close enough", and went ahead with it anyway. Obviously their intent was to do this all along regardless of how the vote went, the vote was only to give pilots a...

Re: Union at Sky
the entire pilot group has been feeling like we've been duped. Whatever do you mean? Like the entirely false pretense wherein were all led to believe that the introduction of 4 day pairings would dramatically reduce working days? What an utter joke and total fabrication. That was the first time as ...

Re: Life for a guy at Transat vs AC?
Just wanted to give this a bump..... I know there are plenty of commuters at TS, just wondering how you make it work when the schedule is alternating 1 month block and 1 month reserve?

Re: Life for a guy at Transat vs AC?
If you're not a happy individual making 150-200k at TS. You're not going to be happy making 300k at AC either. Ah, thanks for that. Echoes my opinion exactly. Thank you for the comments so far. Lifestyle is the absolute number one priority between the two. That being said, getting to work and livin...

Re: Life for a guy at Transat vs AC?
Of course, the security is always going to be there with AC.
If anyone who works at TS would prefer to PM me I'd appreciate it muchly.
Cheers,

Life for a guy at Transat vs AC?
Would like to hear from someone about life at Transat. 40 year old guy at an Express Carrier, AC eligibility in less than a year. They have the same bases that would work for me, YYZ and YUL. Though YYZ isn't a drivable commute. YUL is. Hypothetically assuming the potential for both, and for about 2...

Re: Question for the terminal guys regarding crossing clearance.
Thanks, that's what I thought as well as it makes the most sense and the safest approach. I get challenged on it occasionally and would like to find something that backs it up. I have yet to find anything that says a second clearance invalidates the first one. I think it may be a few people who are ...

Question for the terminal guys regarding crossing clearance.
Hi, have a question for something I haven't been able to find a concrete answer for in literature. You're on a star descending. You're given a "Cross THING at 12000." Non-charted restriction. You're then given another clearance to cross another downstream waypoint, say, STUFF at 8000. Also non-chart...

Re: Union at Sky
I have to agree. There are some realities of regional flying. Also, the shorter the shittle the better. We aren't hanging out in Brussels for 3 days. Anyhow, the hotels are the least of the concerns. Look, the airline is a business, can't fault Russ for running it as such. What's going to bite him i...

Re: Union at Sky
The YOS on the new 10 year scale is about a buck a year. If they are to stave off a union they need to address a number of things relating to working conditions. Immediately and fully. Not the least of it the low pay for capts. Also, 11 Sdos aren't enough when there are zero grey days anymore. 8 sic...
