Re: So when is Peak Leverage?!
Some good gains yes but the fact Porter is exempt from Scope would be very concerning to me as an AT pilot. At the very least they should have been limited to no more than the current ratio of flying or scope any Porter flying to jets with a MTOW / seat capacity of the E2. I’ve just seen the exec s...

Re: Strike outcome desires
man the troll babies are in full force, christmas present expenses must be neigh. Funny and sad how close to 100k isn't enough for some, or maybe 1 multi-account poster here. I know many FOs here, and at AC, WS etc, at starting wages and they are making it, and most don't complain. I and others, in...

Re: Dash FO to captain upgrade time
I would stay away from Q. Very sluggish movement in Q side at Porter. You'll have to sit tight till you can hold a line but consider a few factors of followings: - Roughly over 120 FOs in Toronto alone - 40-50% in seniority is where you will start to hold a line(varies in seasons) - Porter is not a...

Re: Dash FO to captain upgrade time
With 1000TT and 500 hours on the E170 type, would it make more sense to join as an FO on the Q, upgrade to Q Capt and then transition to E2 Capt or would it make more sense to just wait a year until meeting E2 FO mins and skip the Q? I think I would quite enjoy the Q and I would like to get some tr...

So how actually is at the other side of the fence?
For anyone who made a move from other 705 operators(WS, POE, AT, etc.) to AC, how do you actually like there? I’m at a fast growing 705 with pretty great seniority and just wanna hear out if it’s actually greener or just same 705 over again not worth for losing the seniority. Appreciate and happy ne...

Major improvements for the commuters I can see.
Not much of retention awards for the ppl before the E2 CA.
I think more FOs are leaving to AC with this compensation package.

Re: Pilot work permit sponsorship
I highly doubt they are sponsoring any of new hirings. Especially LMIA. With the trend LMIA getting stricter to get one and Porter having a pile of applications, it's just not viable to expect one from Porter. All of non-Canadian pilots working at Porter that I know of have at least PR FYI. Sorry fo...

705 PIC or 737 type rating?
Hope everyone here had a fine long weekend. I'm trying to move on from 703 operator. Feels like I won't have better chance to make a good jump than these days. So I've reached out to a couple and got some offers from two. Basically it comes down as Q400 PIC or 737 jet time. I'm still young enough (I...

Where would you go? Or I should say where can I go? I haven't even looked at job posting for a long time due to my bond and I have served my time. Re: Maximum flight times
My understanding is that rules on 700 are master rules unless specified otherwise under subsection of 702, 703, 704 etc. For example, medevac duty regulation is different from 700(General) world because of "700.19 (1) This Division does not apply (b) to an air operator who conducts a medical evacuat...

Definitely getting better.
My company is NWO 703 operator and now we all are seeing far busier schedule than pre-COVID.
2022 would be hack of year for both pilots and operators.

I don't know about sharpers edge and nizus but I wrote it a month ago and still 2008 version is current.
I'm not sure if you would get a different recently revised one but search 'IATRA' on this forum and you will see lots of 'actual' exam questions that popped on my 2008 version exam.

Do you get IATRA sticker?
Hi all!
I passed my IATRA few weeks ago and was wondering if I would get a sticker that you can put on the Aviation Booklet like IFR or Multi rating.
Or is it just 'you passed the exam and there's no proof except the result paper' rating?
Thank you!

How's the work schedule on the ramp?
Like the title says how the shifts are?
Heard that one of the regionals ramp guy works 7on/7off 12hrs weekday, 10hrs weekend = 160hrs a month and some overtime.
Is this kinda regular shift for the ramp?
Any thought?
Thank you

Re: Am I still failing to decode GFA?
If you want to get technical, answer A is written as factual report that a condition exists whereas the GFA is a forecast of possible weather. A case of present tense versus future tense makes answer A absolutely incorrect. Ask your exam provider to explain the answer and maybe ask them to update t...

Hi there! I'm just looking for what kind of positions are available for low time pilot and got curious about something. Like the title says, is Piper Navajo a low time pilot job? I have MIFR and about to get my IATRA. The operation is limited only to day VFR and it's a serveillance flight. Thank you

Trying to study this mysef too. See below references about how it works: 1.5.9 Abnormally High Altimeter Settings Cold dry air masses can produce barometric pressures in excess of 31.00 in. of mercury. Because barometric readings of 31.00 in. of mercury or higher rarely occur, most standard altimet...

Re: Need some insight about IFR minima
It's been a while, but why would you add those values to your alternate minima? I'm not aware of any Canadian aviation weather forecast including altimeter settings, so how would you even determine your altimeter setting at time of arrival? I believe if you don't add those values to alternate minim...
