Re: Male:female ratio

In generic training, you can practice as much as you want because the sim is voice recognition and you operate it on your own. Most of us came in on the weekends, especially before an eval. The centre is open 24 hours, so you can come in and practice as much as you'd like. In speciality, the sim is ...

Re: Male:female ratio

Training is sounding very difficult, you're doing great! How many people are still in your training class? May I ask what happened to the ones that are no longer there? Out out 13, we have 8 remaining. We are nearing the end of specialty training. I'm not really at liberty to discuss details of oth...

In my IFR course, we started with 13 students.
6 female and 7 male... so almost 50/50.

Re: YVR IFR course offers?

Hey Lisa! oh wow - it feels like it wasn't that long ago you were saying you had your offer and now you are already starting OJT! time really does fly doesn't it! How have you found the program so far?! We have just entered our third week! Got the ITA all over and done with (woop!) We've been split ...

Re: How is VFR FIR assigned?

I do not understand your question. By FIR I am assuming flight information region? When you apply, you are applying to the FIR you live in unless you're planning on moving. As for VFR vs IFR - that is decided after your final panel interview. I think it is probably a combination of how well you sco...

Re: YVR In-person Assessment (Jan 2019)

Wow, I don't want to get nav Canada angry by revealing too much info about the test, but man it was brutal. Did any of you guys who passed the assessment already feel good about it? Hey Hopeful, I wrote in May and was sure I failed. I am horrible at math and guessed on what felt like half. Ran out ...

Re: Regional Airline Pilot to IFR Controller, worth the switch?

My girlfriend is an ATC, I work at AC, used to work at Jazz. I’m at home way more than she is. She works a lot of night shift, has to do mandatory overtime. Some months she gets 4-5 day off with the overtime. She’s jealous of my schedule sometimes. Yes we spend a lot of nights in hotel rooms but I ...

Re: YVR phone interview

Hi all-

exciting news! I just got an IFR offer, starting in April!
I have many mixed emotions.. I was REALLY hoping for VFR because of my aviation passion.
Additionally, the high fail rate really scares me.... but I am EXCITED! and nervous also.

Can't wait to hear if anyone else got offers!!!

Hi Wanderlust. Just wondering if you can clarify something for me. My account also says "Eligible for offer." Did Dawn say that means we passed the interview and would be moving into the training pool? If so, how long until we are actually notified of that? Thanks. yes you are correct, you have pas...
