Re: 2 incidents in 1 day with the same plane at Buffalo Narr
Their 99's have hydraulic gear. I was going to guess C-FCAK, but that is a A100, it seems to be the one that gears up the most there.

Re: ORNGE in the news
So let us recap what we know so far ORNGE is a publicly funded corporation that is also a registered charity. ORNGE decides to start up its own for profit air service, ORNGE Air. ORNGE Air has some common management with ORNGE. ORNGE decides who gets the trips. I could continue down this rabbit hole...

Re: ORNGE in the news
Just a side note, ORNGE Air is incorporated as a "For Profit" company. When asked about this, they said it was easier that way.

1 dead after planes collide east of Vancouver
One person is dead after two planes collided in mid-air near Mission, B.C. The planes reportedly clipped wings in the collision late Wednesday afternoon. Dozens of police and emergency workers are responding in the area of the Dewdney Slough, where one plane is upside-down in the water and one pers...

This matter has already been decided by the courts in Max Aviation Inc. v. Canada (Minister of Transport), 2004 FC 1410 (CanLII) — 2004-10-14 and later in Max Aviation Inc. v. Canada (Transport Canada), 2005 FCA 335 (CanLII) — 2005-10-17. I will save you reading the whole thing and just give you the...

Re: Porter monopoly kaput!
They were delaying their IPO because of the economic conditions on the world markets. Europe was threatening to throw the world back into a recession so they decided like many companies around the world to delay till the world markets are a little more bullish.

Re: Grebennikov's Flying Platform
So, if you go in space, your watch should, according to this fellow, tick slower than if you were on the surface of the Earth? I don't know, but the hundreds of manned space flight refute just that argument. Your watch should tick faster. Gravitational time dilation is the effect of time passing at...

Re: Grebennikov's Flying Platform
Although popular with many readers who dream of unpowered human flight, Grebennikov's work is criticized by scientists. His reports are suspiciously devoid of conclusive proof or public demonstration. He claimed that his camera shutter was jammed during the flights due to a time-warping force-field...

Re: New To the Forums, A couple of Questions
Just a side note, that Canadian regionals require on average a lot more experience than Americans regionals. I would say the average new hire at Porter or Jazz has around 5 years commercial flying experience.

Trying to get more dead weight on board.
LONDON — Two women allegedly put their dead relative in a wheelchair, dressed him in sunglasses and claimed he was simply asleep as they tried to check in at Liverpool airport for a flight to Germany. The women convinced a taxi driver that 91-year-old Curt Willi Jarant was well enough for the 45-min...

Re: Canada Customs at CYWG??? ... they cleared me over the p
Good point, about the number, I always put it in the notes on the flight log, if I need to dig it up. For going south, make copies of all Eapsis forms. You don't know how many times US customs has told me I haven't filed any, and then I promptly hand them a full stack of paper, including the confirm...

Re: AME Duty Time Limits
I'm not saying that I'm not for setting limits on how long an AME can work for, but just wondering if this is actually a common problem for AME's? I've lived with AME's in the past and I would say that I was more concerned with them working with solvents all day, then working long hours. Probably co...

I don't see there being any problem in carrying your old medical around with your booklet in till you get your next stamp in your booklet. I did that with my medical and my PPC card.

Pay should be decent for self respect but I have to say she makes enough to carry us. I'm not going to hold my breath that your going to get even a half decent wage, but besides that you have CAC, Orca, Pasco, CMA, Hawk Air, Sunwest, Carson. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Good lu...

I would say it's a minor party foul; it's not like other carriers that have a 747 on their home page where the biggest plane they fly is a Ho.

Airbus killed their cheif pilot in a single engine go around too. 350 v. 310 gross weight single engine go around should perform around the same; not very well.
