Re: Encore Hiring 250 hrs

250 hours PIC flight time was deemed sufficient to captain a RAF/RCAF Vickers Wellington bomber over Germany in late 1939...and 1940. 1941. 1942. 1943. 1944. and 1945. Upgrade to a Stirling, a Halifax and then finally, a Lancaster. You should live that long..gut damnit..

Pilot shortage? Sure, maybe, depends.. Globally? Locally? Seasonally? Sure, maybe.. Has there ever been a shortage of administrative staff? You know, the people who work Monday to Friday 8:00 to 17:00 and take every second Friday off and have a daily one (1) hour lunch break and four "fifteen minute...

Re: Banner Towplane Crash in Montreal

Sad. Need a banner tow aircraft? Employ a Boeing Stearman, a biplane. . Aircooled, 100LL. The only way to go. Powerful, aerobatic and ultimately sublime. She is kinda sweet, flying characteristics are similar to but NOT comparable to the CCF Harvard/AT-6 Texan..

Re: 1900 replacement?

The twin-engine PT6 powered Indian NAL Saras had good intentions as a 1900 replacement. Alas, only two prototypes were built, as global politics and a lack of government money and support lead to cancellation of the project. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NAL_Saras

Re: Aircraft sales tax

The federal government’s first budget in two years proposes a new tax on luxury goods such as yachts, personal aircraft and cars. The tax would be applied to cars and personal aircraft that retail over $100,000; and boats for personal use that retail over $250,000. If the budget passes, the tax woul...

Contact https://www.franklin-engines.com/kontakt/ The twin-engine Aeronca 402 Champion Lancer Trainer was factory equipped with two (2) 0-200 Continental engines. It is extremely unlikely that two (2) 6-cylinder PZL (Polish) 0-220 Franklin engines were ever installed in an Aeronca Lancer. In hindsig...

Re: Franklin 220 Engines

Curious that a casual search on Google of Franklin aero-engines fails to list a single 0-220 engine. A Youtube video does, however, reveal a Stinson Voyager with the number "220" emblazoned on her cowl. Funny that.

Oh,... to put a finer point on it, I've found in my 50-years as a passenger and aviator, that passengers in YVR, YYZ and YUL are the most obnoxious. Otherwise, I've found Canadians are a kind, considerate and pleasant people.
