I actually think it’s quite nice for the new hire to not be forced to use their WB FO course right in PIT.

Are new hires on a Target Benefit style pension? DC Pension? DB pension?

I heard recently that everyone is back on the DB. Any truth to this?
Negative. However, it is a future, realistic negotiation goal.
That is just not true. The DB is dead. Cemented in with the 10 year deal.

Re: One List

The list of people getting screwed as you declare does not expand with time. People not yet hired have no entitlement to anything. Anyone starting these days knows fully that they are walking into a quagmire of seniority problems. Frankly the number of pilots potentially affected is fixed. JJJ Grea...

if it's ALPA, then TS get's doh for sure. So on that basis its a no from me dawg That. Also we’ve all seen the “amazing” job ALPA did with WJ backing down at the absolute worst time. Also ALPA endorsing the Gazette 2 which isn’t nearly where it should be. F ALPA. ACPA isn’t perfect, but ACPA all th...

Re: Will we ever stop shooting ourselves in the foot?

A lot of old chief pilots and managers are the type that say "I had to wipe my bosses ass before I could be a Caravan FO, now you have to wipe my ass." Theres some senior people who are jealous of how it is now, and do what they can to make it worse for newbies, just out of jealousy. Just because i...

Re: Swoop Pilot Open House & Info Session

That logic does not check out in any way shape or form. Do you think the legacy carriers in the states get better raises because new ULCC's with sub par conditions and wages show up? Nope it actually comes from the other carriers of equal importance getting bigger raises. AA gets raise... United ge...

Re: AT Votes Yes for AC Acquisition

Something I've heard from the AC side is the very real possibility of Transat completely replacing Rouge.... Mainline needs pilots, so Rouge crew would slide over to mainline. Solves that. Rouge 319 and 767's at end of life would be retired and replaced by Transat's fleet with no changes to scope. ...

Re: WestJet to be sold in friendly deal to Onex Corp. for $5 billion

Air Canada will not be sitting on its hands. WestJet has more than its work cut out for itself if it wants to secure anywhere near a 10B market cap. That market share has to come from somewhere, and AC won't be giving up any willingly. Don't ever underestimate CR....he's a shark, and likely smarter...
