While being Captain isn’t everything that has to factor into the equation. How long to a left seat for those hired today? 15 years?
That right seat is going to feel uncomfortable after a decade.

Re: Transat or Porter?
The Porter cult is truly interesting. Much like the WJ cult of yore. Up to and including defending being groomers.
Never ever understood simping for a company. Is it a Canadian thing? Honestly wouldn’t know but very strange.

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65
Why the hell would anyone want to work past 65?? A) Made poor choices in women and now flat piss broke due to alimony payments. B) Has no life outside flying/unhappy home life. Wears pilot uniform to stores after work. Absolutely. So sad and pathetic. They can feel at home with the AR losers at WJ.

I will say maybe my initial reaction was off. The vid helped explain a few things.

Simping for the company is a bad look. Simping for ALPA is equally bad.
Summer growth sked assured. Chess for company. Checkers for pilots.

Vidkun Quisling should be forgiven cause he admitted what he was right? I mean. He told us!
Obviously not the same but I hope you get the point. I hope.

Sounds like another boomer beholden to an outdated ideology as most boomers are.
They can’t help themselves. It’s who they are. Leave them behind. Don’t even bother.
Soldier ahead. Wear your lanyard. Get on board.

Re: Reserve out of base
Nice edit co-jo. Did Canada’s head SCAB email you?
If anyone was wondering he said crews were on reserve the whole time they were on layover. Specifically Cancun.
God you’re such a shill.
Go Flair!
Merry Christmas

I really hope for your crews the duty time associated with that pathetic nonsense is being tracked and accounted for.
God help your crews if something happens and it’s not.

Probably price. Doubt it all you want but it’s the reality. 6th freedom traffic is huge and the massive part of AC’s strategy.

With the information available today and the reality of what Jazz is turning into it would blow my mind if someone chose Jazz over almost any other airline.

Re: Canada given C grade in flight safety oversight, confidential UN agency report finds
It’s pretty short sighted for any professional to advocate to make any sort of licensing in their profession easier. In my opinion it’s far too easy to get an ATPL. Keep the entry as high and difficult as possible and limit supply. My comment was more to do with, if we’re substituting actual PIC wi...

This has to be a troll. I can’t imagine TS has a bond. If it’s true and it’s still a decision for someone then definitely go TS all the way!

Some real inaccurate info on this thread. It does not take years and years to hold a block as a NB captain.
A good block maybe.

Why do professional pilots feel the need to justify anything at all to non pilots. (Digits, accountant, etc)
Even stranger are the non pilots engaging the pros. Go larp elsewhere.
Just ignore them.

Re: Pacific Coastal - flight instructors aren't real pilots
Instructors have zero operationally valid experience. Doesn’t mean it can’t be learned. The skills you gain instructing can absolutely benefit your career but let’s not pretend they have “real” experience.
That’s gained when you actually fly.
