Re: Equipment bid
The Feb bid pack looks almost as bad as last April's bid pack. Not sure they can hold an equipment bid based on no one knows whats happening or where the flying will restart again.

Re: Chorus to be sold ?
Well let’s not get too carried away yet. We don’t know who it is or even if it will go through at all. If it were AC, I’d be happy if the lists were to remain separate though. I chose to stay at Jazz and have no desire to “fly the big planes” someday. I 100% agree, I would love to remain separate, ...

Onex and EIC have been making some large gains on stock lately. Onex has over 10Billion in liquid assets currently, not sure how liquid EIC is.

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
By delaying the equipment bid would not stop CCAA. Jazz is a creditor to Air Canada, so if Big Red goes to file with the courts Jazz goes also. Saw it in early 2000. Flyer The trick is not to go bankrupt prior to AC. If Chorus goes bankrupt prior to AC then it fails in its obligated contract (CPA)....

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
I wonder if the 70 downgrades of current pilots will be reduced to account for the 20 taking the early retirement package at the end of the year as well as several more hitting 65? That would bring the downgrades to about 40-45. 26 retiring at the end of 2020 and I doubt it. Essentially they will b...

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
The terms have changed: Before it was NO MORE than 675 laid off now it is NO LESS than 635 Active Pilots (not including training pilots, LTD, STD, MAT, LOA etc) So essentially as retirements or attrition happen they will have to recall more pilots & when flying increases they will have to recall.

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Of the 675 pilots placed on inactive status, i was roughly #500. Had 2 and a half years with jazz. Now if i were offered a corporate gig with good pay and all, but a 2 year bond, should i take it? Or do you think ill get called back within 2 years?? I would 100% take the job as we have no clue how ...

Re: New normal for those still left
It really depends on type and base. YVR Q is flying quite a bit, lots of single days, but the multi days are coming back. DH8 YYC is very slow as is the RJ, but every month is a little different. Loads seem to be coming back to 50-90% depending on route. Whenever I am dead heading I see 1-10 CONS on...

Re: 220 Pilots, what are you thoughts so far??
Just as a passenger I wasn't super impressed. The lavs at the back make no sense and it's loud as a passenger. Really looks like a beefed up modern CRJ900. Really first world problems, but honestly I expected a little better from the C-Series. I'm sure its a great performer and I would love to drive...

Not very accurate as we currently have ZERO DH8-100 still operating for Jazz.

Re: Equipment bid
I would certainly hope so! Hard to say to 675 pilots that it’s too expensive to keep them on CEWS and then keep paying captains their regular wage to sit in the right seat. I wouldn't expect to see an equipment bid until Sept 2020. ALPA is working hard to keep everyone on CEWS, will have to wait an...

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Any updated opinions on when hiring will start back up. It's going to be a while I would guess. Jazz currently has 675 pilots "inactive" which all need to come back on the property before Jazz will "hire" again. Also the only reason Jazz was really hiring was due to the shortage...

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
I would take the employment, there has been no increase in air travel and so until that happens we are currently over staffed even with the pilots we do have "active". I would expect more layoffs come July 1, 2020 if there is no minor increase in flying by July. Just be honest with your ne...

Re: Is the 4 year flat pay worth it?
Well at least the first 4 posts were helpful   To be honest, you'll need a bit of time prior to even applying to Jazz (they're hiring around 800-1500TT + Multi), and then if you're successful at Jazz there are 600+ pilots at Jazz waiting to go to AC who are by seniority going to go first....
