My second flight in the circuit as I transition to GA from LSA.

My second flight in the circuit as I transition to GA from LSA. I'm flying a 1976 Cessna 172 Skyhawk... and I'm really enjoying the transition from LSA... but it does make you have to start over in some ways. I can get distracted with the new flight characteristics and then forget simple stuff like ...

My First aviation incident ... Flat tire

My First aviation incident.. after 75 hours total flight time, I've ended up with a flat tire on landing.... it was a nice landing with no sideloading on the rubber but she immediately felt odd after touchdown and then was pulling hard left on the first taxiway after exiting the runway. I did howeve...

Re: My first flight as passenger in a GA low wing airplane.

Just wait until you get to fly in something with a stick instead of a yoke, and with a tailwheel instead of a nosewheel. :) Right Airframe!... I've been flying stick for some 70 hours and I do prefer it to yoke that I only have 5 hours on... but never a tail dragger! For sure when I watch those 'bi...

My first flight as passenger in a GA low wing airplane.

My first flight as passenger in a GA low wing airplane. Shawn, a friend from Ground school here in Kingston Ontario, offered me a ride in his - 1966 Piper Cherokee PA28. Nice airplane. It was an interesting comparison between my understanding of low wing and high wing. Much the same of course but mu...

Re: I'm thinking of getting my Flight Instructor Rating Ultralights

Hello sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Yes the Ikarus C 42 LSA is a fine positively stable airplane that is great for training. It would land itself is my joke. I is very responsive. It has a dry weight of 605 lbs and MTOW of 1,230 lbs... making it approximately 1,000 lbs less than the C...

Re: Dave is my first passenger with me flying PIC Right seat.

Flying small piston airplanes was the best flying I've ever done. I didn't know how to really appreciate it at the time. I hope to buy my own plane one day and fly on weekends. Keep posting these videos. Well I hope you do get back into GA. I know more that a couple of Airline industry pilots at th...

Astroguy I believe anyone here would cheerfully go flying with you as your enthusiasm and positive attitude would be a great reminder to all of us as to why we started flying in the first place. Alcoholism I believe I'd like to teach you some manners. - Toeless. Toeless.... to you I say thanks. I k...

Re: Dave is my first passenger with me flying PIC Right seat.

This forum is filled with frustrated pilots, dreamers and most of all rumor addicted individuals. I fall into one of those categories. We all loved aviation at one point, then decided to turn it into a career. That's when you start losing that magic and start to face the harsh realities of an indust...

Took my deskmate from GA ground school last winter up for a flight. Re: 8 minute Video Montage of my Flight journey thus far...

What benefit was the instructor hoping to achieve by allowing you to thump it on the grass prior to the threshold? What was the purpose of an approach to a very narrow (30'?) strip in the early stages of your training? What is the dual rate on this A/C? Well... no he wasn't allowing this but it was...
