Re: Spraying Work wanted 2021

Best place to go would be on the Canadian Aerial Applicators Association website and place an add in the classifieds. There is a shortage of experienced ag pilots in Canada generally so if you have some experience and aren’t picky who you work for you should be able to find a seat with out much trou...

Hiring at the regionals in 2021 is likely, but not guaranteed.

So if you start in a month or two, earliest you'd be a captain at jazz or encore is 2030?

Relax and enjoy the ride!

Re: Thoughts on Aerial Application

For me it was the best type of flying I ever did. X2 And it’s a good time to get into the industry as there is a shortage of AG pilots in Canada. Often times if you start with an operator and you get into an entry level aircraft for a couple seasons they will get you insured on something that they ...

Re: Thoughts on Aerial Application

The reason a lot of times for the high requirements on the CAAA website are because operators are struggling to find insurable pilots on the larger turbine machines so they need to hire TFW's to fill seats for the summer. There are a large percentage of highly experienced Australian pilots who fly s...

Re: 3 cropdusters in 2 weeks.

The aerial pesticide license came into effect in the early 1960's in Ontario. I was operating an aerial crop spraying business in Ontario when the license requirement was initiated. I went to Guelph Agricultural College for the license and was the first person to be issued with one in Ontario the l...

Re: 3 cropdusters in 2 weeks.

Exactly and they also have to get an aerial applicators license which is not easy to get. Just wondering, do you know if that requirement applies to flying farmers? I don't know the exact fine print but anyone applying crop protection products buy air is required to have a aerial pesticide licence ...

Re: 3 cropdusters in 2 weeks.

Crop spraying outfits have a get er done mentality. Fatigue likely played a role with an evening crash. This leads to accidents. Insurance covers the loss of plane and the pilot likely didn't have benefits with the outfit. Just another sad statistic. Very likely a low timer. Literally every sentenc...
