The YouTube comment section is gold.

"ATC does good work. They will sometimes try to kill you. I think of ATC as my best friend....but he is drunk and has the hots for my wife, so I watch him every minute."

Re: Exercices 24. Instrument flying.

Breaking Ex. 24 into separate lessons is a great idea. I don't believe that's too much. There is A LOT of very important information to cover under this lesson. Unintentional flight into IMC conditions is often fatal for PPL pilots. Low visibility and/or flying close to VFR minimums can be very diso...

Re: Brampton Flight Center or Ottawa Aviation Services

I completed my PPL at OAS back in 2009; it was a great community. At the time they had strong, experienced instructors - although a majority of my learning came from speaking/studying with fellow students. I've been an instructor now for almost ten years - and the best advice i can give is that your...

Re: Recession.

I think I said it before. No recession anytime soon. The world has changed a whole lot. Nuclear wars, world wars, are a thing of the past. Same goes for recessions. The bean counters have gotten smarter. Don't worry. I'm also an idealist - although I'm not certain it's wise to disregard the possibi...

Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing

What exactly do you think you can learn from speculation. Speculation from past accidents, even when eventually proven wrong by the TSB, has led to immediate improvements in policy and procedures at my shop. Productive speculation is a matter of putting yourself in that situation, asking what could...

Re: AIRAF Instructor Exam

Check out the . instructor manuals. I found them very well organized for both the AIRAF and AIRAT exams (I have both sharper edge and . - definitley recommend the latter). Tempforeignworker nailed the subjects above. Student attitudes/curve of remembering, theory of flight, and human factors are a s...

Re: Is it realistic to be a PT flight instructor

Duele, I work PT as a flight instructor and find it very enjoyable. Both my career streams are aviation-related and I am an avid reader, so my education continues to grow and I am able to stay current and informed. While working PT, I am able to spend about 40-50 hours a month instructing (ground & ...
