Re: Fall 2023 Hiring Update

There is very little if any growth in the near future. This is mostly to cover off attrition to Porter and Air Canada.

I give up on Canadian airlines

I've all but given up hope on airlines in Canada. Low pay, mediocre working conditions are inexcusable these days. Here's a list of contract agencies. If anyone is aware of others, please add them. Re: FLAIR NOT PAYING PILOTS FOR WORK

Depends on how senior you are. Junior guys are definitely 18 days. From the looks of the November bid packs most of the senior guys will be close to that too. Not much flying going on next month.

Re: Flair Cadet Program Assessments

I'm curious to know why you even care? Are you planning to get your license and are shopping around? Somehow I don't think you are. It's a matter of choice and if you're only criticizing the venture out of spite, then you're simply one more of the naysaying rabble who have no reason (other than the...

Re: Flair Cadet Program Assessments

Why wouldn’t Flair be here in a year? Oh, I don't know. For starters the CEO went on a press tour telling everyone "we are heading for a financial reconning or what ever" We’ve been here for 18 years already now As a charter company not competing with the big boys. We just took 2 new aircraft this ...

Re: FAA ATP to Canadian ATPL exam questions

Why the hell would you want to? Just marry an American if you really need the right to work there. I haven't been in the dating pool for some time but I would think between Tinder and all the other dating apps, you should be able to at least knock someone up there quickly. Crazy thing is you'll need...

And why would they offer this? They're hoping to just hire everyone on the chance of a free trip to Australia.

Re: Retro Pay

Unconfirmed but I heard close to 30 guys quit after the back pay went out. I heard 5 quit and are heading over to Porter and my guess is this is just the first wave. I suspect that August will bring more resignations for Porter. I can't see any reason you wouldn't go. It is over a $50/hour differenc...

Re: Retro Pay

There are 7 from active employees currently on the seniority list. The two that I referenced earlier were definitely not former employees. I spoke with one, I believe he has or shortly will have the money in his account. The former employees who were all on property January 1st of this year are goin...

I am aware of at least two people who were entitled to back pay that did not receive anything at all.

Literally anywhere is faster than Canada, except for maybe China and Japan (although once you have all the requirements, issuing a Japanese license is done on the spot ...

Re: Any US Visa success stories?

I bought this DIY kit last summer: https://www.eb2niw.com/niw-do-it-yourself-kit/ . Not sure if it will help or not but I may just attempt to put something together using it and send it in. Are the recommend letters etc, fill in the blank type stuff or do they have you draft up something original? ...

Re: Delta now hiring Air Canada pilots

The only way it will change is if the US becomes desperate enough that the demand from the corporate level becomes louder than the union fighting against immigration. If you really want to find a way there, contact the HR departments and let them know you are out there. Next, contact the house trans...

My kids invisilign cost me something like $4500. Don't think much if any was covered at all. We can't opt out at Flair as far as I know.

Although the benefits package was better where I was before, I don't think we could opt out there either.

Re: Government workers strike to impact pilot medicals

I guess we know who you work for... Our entire goverment is one bloated entity. And work from home kills productivity, and study after study shows this to be true. And if your job can be done from home, we might as well ship it out of the country. WFH does not kill productivity. I'd also be ok if I...
