Hello, does anyone know if a TC examiner is supposed to give the candidate a copy of the flight test report after a PPC? Thanks

Re: Hand flying Cirrus

sorry to go off topic but whats the nightmare problem with the engine mounting on an early 210? i haven't heard of that in my decade of owning one, have i just been lucky? All the 210s, and the 205 and early 206s the engine is mounted on the cantilever box which doubles as the housing for the nosew...

Re: Hand flying Cirrus

The C210 gear door mid goes a long way towards dealing with the gear issues. The strutted 210 would be my preference I have heard the opposite re the gear doors and been advised to keep them unless they get damaged and it would be economical to do the mod. You may get exhaust fumes in the cabin as ...

Re: Hand flying Cirrus

My advice would be if you have a nice 182, stick with that. While the 210 and Cirrus are nice planes, for the price of the Cirrus or the extra costs of the 210 you can put a lot of gas through a 182. 210s right now aren't holding their value, so expect to take a dive on resale if that's a concern. ...

Re: Hand flying Cirrus

I have had an early C210 (1962) for going on 10 years now. It's been a great airplane, i think a lot of the talk about the gear is just talk. I have never had any problems with my gear except for once when the doors wouldn't close which was just a micro switch adjustment, also never had a problem wi...

Re: Did you eventually return to flying, or did you never look back?

I did the same thing. Just got tired of flying for a career and it consuming my life, the constant studying, check rides commuting etc, so much of your own time goes into it. I did it for 4 years, i guess i should have toughed it out i would have got to the top eventually. I ended up taking up truck...

Re: piper pa32 crashed last night near kananaskis village

Bottom line....GA has all kinds of incompetents in it. That doesn't mean that they are incompetent in life. Some are hugely successful and extremely smart but don't have the ability to understand their limitations. They have skill bit not good judgement. Others are seriously lacking in skill. Some ...

Re: New immigration program to fill in-demand jobs. Pilots made the list.

Multi-ifr on a twin piston or turbo prop? The other 900ish is in single piston. If your answer is twin piston that’s most likely what’s holding you back, if there’s no other red flags in your interviews. Are you only applying to regionals or anything that will take your resume? Well, accepting pove...

Re: New immigration program to fill in-demand jobs. Pilots made the list.

I dont know why, no criminal record, no violations. 2/3rds of my time is multi IFR with about 300 hrs of that pic, the rest is single engine. I thought maybe its because I'm 50, but with all the employers preaching diversity now that shouldnt be an issue, but then again maybe they figure a 50 year ...

Re: New immigration program to fill in-demand jobs. Pilots made the list.

Let's think about this for a moment. Who would apply for this? On the one hand low time pilots who can't find a job in their home country. They will likely arrive here with 500 hours or less. There is no shortage of 500 hour pilots here, but it also won't affect candidates at the airlines. It's the...

Re: Flair off runway excursion YKF

As a GA pilot you fly once in a while, maybe for a few hours at a time. Unless you have worked as a professional pilot, you have no idea of the stress and exhaustion. These things include: - abusive chief pilots - 14 hour duty days, recently reduced. - low pay, and forced to pick up extra flying to...

Cold lake to Comox via Tofino

Maybe this guy was lost or just having fun at the taxpayers expense but that speed at that altitude and not a word on the radio? And the military thinks they get smarter pilots with their university degree prerequisite?

This discussion is why Cessna designed the Skymaster. I've never flown one but I imagine as far as light twins go it performs fairly well on one engine, can anyone comment on that who has flown one?
