Re: Visual Approach Vs. Canceling IFR ??
I always thought it hilarious when training aircraft would announce they’re conducting the “simulated RNAV approach.” What the hell a simulated RNAV? You’re doing the RNAV approach, in real life, not in a simulator. Who cares if the weather is VMC? Call it what it is. The day I have a delay in my c...

Duty regs extentions
We spoke about it in another post. Why governments are still extending the implementation of the new duty regs while the shortage of pilot is virtually over for the next 3 years? Shouldn’t we request from our unions and lobbyists to push for a rapid implementation and bring back more colleagues to w...

3rd quarter is estimated to be a 25% total capacity vs 2019 Q3. Still about 10% for Q2.

What's happening with the Q in YVR? Is it because of upgrades? Flow? People just moving out of the base?

I like the name... "International Pilot Academy". It makes it sound like the company owns 50 planes and is a prestige flight school. Just like the "Academy of Aeronautics" in Montreal

Re: 50 hours and no solo
I got my PPL at 48 hrs... There is a problem somewhere. Ask your instructor, he will tell you what's missing. If he keeps making you do circuits, he's not happy the way you handle the aircraft on either of the flight phases. "Never trust a student with fuel and oil". LOL. Quite the blanket statemen...

ATPL as a requirement
Hi,
Just wondering if they ask you to have your ATPL written prior to being invited for an interview or being granted a GS date?
Can they live with us having the IATRA for a few months?

Re: Encore, then Jazz?
I think he means wanting out of instructing. Gets on with WEN but since he lives in YVR would prefer working at Jazz as there's the chance of a YVR base with them. I don't think he's really caring about one over the other, except for that. Exactly... After 18 months of instruction, it's time to mov...
