Re: Any chance we just lost our AC flow?
If both operations are merged, there is quite a bit of overlapping that can be reduced to maximize efficiency. The A310s will likely be sold off. The 737s and A330-200s may be as well. Overall, Air Transat will likely not be as large as it is now. That being said, AC is still short on pilots. Ground...

Re: Jazz or Sunwing ?
Diadem, you're still assuming voting no would've led to further negotiations, eventually yielding an increase in pay. I have two problems with this idea. Firstly, this CPA was contingent on us signing MOS4. AC wasn't coming back to Jazz if we voted no. With this new deal, Jazz's profit margins are n...

Re: Jazz or Sunwing ?
Sky pays substantially more than Jazz, and GGN was so unreliable, with such terrible publicity, that AC was going to drop them sooner or later anyway. If the work had gone to Sky, tons of Jazz pilots would have moved over to make $8 more per hour. Jazz pilots signed on to be the lowest-paid regiona...

Well, there's literally five job ads being posted every day now, so I'm not really sure what your issue is.

Re: Jazz or Sunwing ?
I don't think anyone is trying to justify the FO pay. The majority of post-2015 hires would place correcting FO pay at the top of their priority list, but we have to be pragmatic. The pay is still in-line with other mainstream regionals. Again, why apply if you don't like the pay? Economies of suppl...

Re: Jazz or Sunwing ?
Jazz is a long way from being a bad company. For those saying "Jazz can suck it," I'd love to hear your aviation background. Evidently, your experience in the industry is pretty limited. Let me guess: 2 years instructing, 6 months 704, then straight to Jazz? You clearly don't know what shitty is. Su...

Re: Interview Callback
Hiring department Busy for awhile, I'm getting tired of pulling the power back to screw up the jazz flights following me in. Loved not long ago when I took extra time after getting in position for t/o to make a jazz dash having to go around hahaha. Seriously? And you consider your self a profession...

Re: Westjet Mainline FO ad.
So is holding DOH from Encore officially done then? That pretty dramatically changes the situation for an OTS hire then.

Re: Westjet Mainline FO ad.
It's definitely an interesting ad, and I'm excited to see more, especially those without the chance of going to Swoop. I'd go to Westjet mainline in a heartbeat if I knew I wasn't behind 550 Encore pilots. Unfortunately, WJA is going to have to sort this out if they want any quality OTS applicants. ...

Re: Bid 2019
Absolutely insane bid! The most junior captain was hired January 2019 (DH8 YUL).
For those waiting in the pool/for a call back, I count 150+ vacancies post-GGN integration. You'll all be flying with us soon!

Re: New hire bids
I really don't think there will DEC hiring in 2020.....you never know and I could be wrong, but there are a lot of qualified FO's who have their AA's and are waiting in the weeds. Plus there will be some Captains reduced out of their seats in YVR and YYC who may decide to commute to YYZ and YUL to ...

Re: Interview Callback
203 coming from GGN so your wait will be long. Depending if you’re currently employed and can wait.. Or apply with other regionals IMHO. With the new agreement signed by Jazz, and the present situation at Westjet/Encore, I would wager Jazz is now the best long-term bet for regionals. The manner by ...

Re: Bid 2019
It's hard to predict how this will all play out with the limited information we have now. We don't know how quickly the Q's will leave YYZ, nor how quickly the RJ's will be transferred back to Jazz. Furthermore, we don't know the rate at which we'll intake those 203 GGN pilots. If I were to hazard a...

Re: A message to all GGN Pilots from a Jazz Pilot
Maybe a bit of wishful thinking here, but it would be cool for Jazz to lift the equipment freeze so that the redistribution of position better reflects the new seniority list. The implementation of MOS 4 heavily favours those on the RJ, especially with the reduction of the other types. I hope the c...

Re: Canadian Pilot Unity
I get it and I know it will greatly affect me. It would suck to sit where I am when I thought at the time I got hire that by now I should be enjoying either a Captain's pay or at least a great FO schedule, It would suck to see GGN guys hired after me slide right into a CRJ spot I'd like to have a s...

YUL DH8 58 PS: If one advocates bleeding for the group, one must. be ready to bleed too. What I didn't mention above is that I am also hoping for a lift of the. equipment freeze for the Jan equip bid so that some of us could find a seat on another type before the GGN guys come over. Yeah I'm a drea...

Re: Canadian Pilot Unity
What about the guys at Jazz who recently just got a base transfer so they don't need to commute, only to be bumped out again?(something that I risk right now) Or the reserve FO who, after a year, finally held a block only to be bumped back into reserve? Based on our current collective agreement, th...

Re: Canadian Pilot Unity
What's best for the collective group? You're still making this about GGN and Jazz. You are all the same. We are all the same. Why differentiate it? What's bad for a Jazz FO today is bad for a GGN FO today as well. B scale reserve sitters being impacted by thousands of dollars because a GGN guy come...

I think anything equitable to both pilot groups would be ideal. However, for your above scenario, I can only assume AC would have to pay for the bumps in salary.

Re: Canadian Pilot Unity
GATRKGA, you act like many of us at Jazz are adamantly against the GGN pilots. To the contrary, many of us in the current pilot group arrived on property after the 2015 deal, so we don't really have any previous skin in the game. What I've been trying to point out is that DOH would be somewhat unpre...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
Given the way we already do reductions I can't see how anyone on property will be harmed if it's DOH. I sincerely hope you're right, but given what I've seen over the past year, I'm still pretty skeptical. Pilots hired onto the YYZ/YUL DH8 January 2018 are still sitting bottom of the list on reserv...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
You were awarded left seat at what? The one year mark? There are people hitting the one year mark at this company presently, flying on a comparatively worse plane and schedule, who are simply hoping to hold a block. So I find it extremely hypocritical that you're willing to throw them under the bus,...
