Yes there's Dash 8s in YQT. Same schedules and destinations as the other planes.

Re: Confederation course load question
During the non summer semesters it is definitely 6-7 days a week, with flying on weekends. Generally first year included 2 or 3 flight bookings during the week with another 1-2 every weekend. Otherwise classes usually ran 8am-5pm monday to friday with one evening class per week.

Re: Ground at Wasaya or Transwest?
Who cares? It's an opportunity for a low time pilot, with upgrades right around the corner, I don't know AUGER9, but that sure sounds like you're "selling" something with this remark......just saying :bear: :bear: A flying position for a low time, yes. Wasaya, no. I apologize for stating the facts ...

Re: Ground at Wasaya or Transwest?
So you know more about it than someone currently working there? Ok sure. But as far as the contract goes, you only pay 2 bonds, and you don't pay any after 3 years of service. Only TWO bonds! What an opportunity! Wow! No bonds after THREE YEARS OF SERVICE! What a deal! How stupid are you people? Re...

Re: Ground at Wasaya or Transwest?
Also Dan, in case you don't know, right seat in a 208 is an absolutely useless position. It is a single pilot airplane, and a basic one at that. Who cares? It's an opportunity for a low time pilot, with upgrades right around the corner, and hours in the book. Plus, it's nice being two crew when doi...

Re: Ground at Wasaya or Transwest?
The "triple bond" info at Wasaya is incorrect, I'll send you a PM. The other posts are correct that working the ramp in YQT is not a base for apprentice pilots. You'll have to be in either YRL or YPL. You can drop off your resume in YQT though. So, educate us. I know for a fact Wasaya will bond you...

They can't afford to buy fuel, so they probably can't afford new planes haha!Go Juice wrote:Rhumor has it they are replacing all of their single engine PC-12 by newer twin engine PC-24.
The main difference between the 2 airplane is the extended gliding distance of the -24.

Re: PC-12 off runway in YTS
Someone from there told me they shut down the engine short final. The windscreen was fully covered in oil so they couldn't make out the runway/height too well and ended up being quite high, which is why they overran. Second hand info though.

Re: PC-12 off runway in YTS
Once. An MD-11 also caught on fire , a 747 had its tail blow off in Japan, a DC-10 had its engine fall off and crashed, several 737's had rudder hardovers, a 767 engine went into reverse in flight, so did an F-100, a 727 had its tire explode due to a dragging brake. All crashed with all dead. Grant...

- 200+ up to 10 miles. - 170 approaching the faf. - if IMC, gear and flaps configured, and 120 - 130ias at the faf inbound. - if visual, 140 - 150 ias up to a mile final. - usually over the numbers at 100 ias. Cheers Pretty much. Vref with 15 flap is 98. Height and speed can be dumped pretty quick ...

Re: Crash @ North Spirit Lake Ont (4 dead, 1 survivor)
Why are people so hung up about the altimeter? If he was IFR he shouldn't have been any lower than about 2800' (that'd be quite the altimeter error!). If he was VFR he should've had the airport and ground in sight by that point anyways. In case you don't want to read my wall of text the reason the ...

Re: Confederation College Flight Training Costs
I had a question about subsidized verus non-subsidized flight training costs: I just checked Seneca's website (https://www.senecacollege.ca/ce/technology/commercial-pilot-training.html#TuitionFees) about their Commercial Pilot Certificate and its says it would cost $35k + taxes for flight training ...

Re: Porter Terms and Conditions
what's the schedule like for new FO's?? all single pair pairings or mostly all overnights?? Like most places completely depends on when you get hired, and more importantly who gets hired behind you. My first month, I was on reserve, but the following month, I had 2 and 3 day pairings, exactly like ...
