Re: stratus 2 tips needed
Thanks very much for that, I don't know how I could get an external antenna going with a pressurized aircraft unless I'm missing something about how these work, is there a way to do it anyone?

stratus 2 tips needed
We got a stratus 2 and it's only able to pick up 1-2 towers when flying in the US. We're in the high 30's and have the mount that puts on the shady side of the window so it can see the ground also. Does anyone else have the same problem and or know of a solution? (Aircraft is a challenger). Already ...

Issue of low utilization
Hi, Everyone knows that if an aircraft sits around it will develop problems. If you or anyone you know has an under utilized aircraft and you'd like it flown, let me know! Ideally I can take it to Campbell River and put about 5-10 hours a month on it. Even buy a share then pay a hourly fee. Whatever...

Re: Incident/Accident Letter
+1 on that, I got a letter same day after calling.
Another bit of related advice, a lot of foreign operations expect each page of your logbook be signed and stamped by some authority. before you go see if you can get all your old employers to stamp for you.

Part share in CYBL wanted
I'd like to but a part share in an aircraft based in CYBL so I can commute down island a few times a week. At times I'll need to overnight a few days but normally this would be 9-5 weekdays. If you have a small economical aircraft that you'd like to see excersised a bit more then PM me and we can ch...

Re: This kid needs a hand
The site that raises money for him is http://debracanada.org/butterfly-ambassador-jonathan-pire I'm going to donate, but I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed that there's an aircraft owner out there that can make this happen including my own boss. It would be hard to say if an aircraft would e...

This kid needs a hand
Saw this article on FB from the Ottawa Citizen. Basically this 14 year old kid has spent every day in searing pain because his skin is so sensitive it blisters and scars all the time. Long story short, his mother is trying to raise money to outfit a special car to drive him to Alaska to see the nort...

Thanks a lot everyone, I do want in pretty bad but want to go about it the right way. At 8 weeks I sent an email where she told me to hang in there another 2 weeks, after that I sent another and haven't got anything since. I guess I'll give her a call on Monday, not that my 14 weeks is anything clos...

What's the longest wait to hear from the interview so far
Hi,
I was wondering from those of you out there what the longest time it took between your interview and getting a PFO or a competitive candidate letter.
So far I've cracked 13 weeks and thopugh I am grateful I haven't yet recieved the PFO, I'm starting to pull on my collar a bit.
Thanks

I'm sorry, what a dumb thing to say. If that did happen, then way to go to the crews for making sure they ended up at airports and not in the bush.

Dispatch
Flight following would be the better word I guess in that case, but it is the salary information that I'm looking for so we can attract high quality people to our operation when we post the job.
Thanks for your reply though,

Dispatcher Pay
What's a fair salary for a dispatcher for Calgary? No TC training requirement, just for basic operations assistance.
Thanks,
Thanks,

We just got the OK from the higher-ups to do this and hope it will help candidates with their decision to apply. Look forward to hearing from those interested,
Take care,
Raf

That's interesting... As far ability to pass rides, the multi-ifr grad is more current and has the fresher knowlege. The ramp guy has to keep studying and still is thrown into a tough senario after not flying for a while. However, anyone can fly a plane (pretty much), but it takes the right person t...

These days it's pretty easy to get a right seat job in a twin. The problem happens a few years later when you want to upgrade. It takes forever to get your ATPL even with PIC under supervision (if your employer would even give that to you). I've seen a lot of people stuck in a right seat job because...

Wasn't taking about you Cat Driver, Everyone knows who you are. I only said that because I was expecting a pounding from the dudes that spoke out against me annonyonsly (sp?) last time I made a post. It got ugly fast and I wanted to at least make sure I got my point across first. Back to the subject...

Instructors
Not one to post often anymore, I thought I'd add a little to the mix with regards to instructors. Like anything else, a license is proof that you have legally met the requirements to do a certain job. For a holder of a CPL, you can fly for reward. How many 200 hrs CPL's have flown commercially or in...

Ya TWA is pretty hopping. There's starting a "ground" school for the ramp on the 4th and 40 people are invited. I think it's a great place to be and the people there are awesome. Every place has it's faults, but it's a job and just to have one these days is fantastic. less than 2 years ago I started...
