Re: Why WestJet?

For those in Alberta bidding single day pairings the whole month, how many days off are you getting?

Also, separate from single day pairings, can you be blocked for the month as low as 11-13 days per month regularly if you bid in such a manner?

Re: How will the ATPL changes affect the industry?

According to TC’s explanation, for someone upgrading “in house”, as long as everything else is in place (hours, exams), your command course PPC would meet the requirement. The unknown there is processing times to actually issue the ATPL… The real problem will be someone without the ATPL but with ev...

Re: How will the ATPL changes affect the industry?

I think this is where the confusion lies. You will not get a restricted ATPL for a 705 FO ride, or any FO ride. Restricted ATPL applies only to a PIC ride in a single pilot airplane. A 2 crew aircraft FO cannot meet the skill requirement, even restricted, without a captain PPC. So what happens in t...

Don’t do man… encore, pal, porter
Well, obviously not encore if you’re trying to get to WJ mainline. That seems irrefutable at this point.

Airbus is Airbus, 737 is a 737, 777/787 are pretty much the same airplane procedurally and I've heard the 220 is an easy machine to learn. As stated above though that's all secondary over the long term.
2nd or 3rd time hearing this about the 220. Smooth course etc.

Re: Poll: What is the most embarrassing aspect of the Air Canada pilot contract?

The eye opener is here... https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/major/151670-end-2025-salary-survey.html Here is a specific breakdown of year 12 AA MIA base 737 CA. If we’re talking net306/gross458…..At this bracket he lost about 33%. So he netted 67% of his gross. No state income tax in Florida of co...

Mainline is not overstaffed. If they were, pilots would have much cushier schedules, double time wouldn't be offered for overtime, and reserves wouldn't be called all the time. Was the recent bid not to balance the bases, reduction out east, followed by vacancies out west? I ask because by appearan...
