Re: The TA

What were the reasons for take home pay being allegedly less than AC before? Higher benefit cost on the employee?

Re: Strike outcome desires

I just read that there will be long call reserve. Absolute win. How will that be awarded? Junior-most = short call?

Pay scales somewhere between AC B767 & 737. Bunch of other improvements.
Where are you seeing this? Congratulations to transat pilots.

What is it exactly that Altiplano said? -Make sacrifices, discretionary spending adds up (micro Econ 101) -at the same time, high cost of living, housing prices and the state of Canada is a result of government and other factors -criticizes AC management -exercises caution toward expat life I see ad...

is it the same case in YEG as YYC? So 10 yrs currently to upgrade at both bases and then reserve for a few years after that at both bases?

Numbers only…. Even if you ask for delta wages in CAD, year 1 of 125.50 cad = only 90 usd.

Hope you all get some QOL and legacy gains.

Just curious, is this NB CA? WB FO?
12 year NB CA.
Ahh yes, I see now you said 737 previous page. Great insight as always.

Now for that 12hr long call reserve.. one day maybe.

Re: Recall of MEC Chair & Vice Chair

They voted down their contract and will be commencing arbitration. We voted for ours. We sure did... Did the FAs give up their bonus?! You do realize a new hire FA gets more value out of shine points than their bonus? I’ve seen year end pay stubs of new FA’s in the 24k range that included their bon...

Hi All, I interviewed with Porter for an E2 FO position at the end of May, at the time I had only 1400 hours however they said my resume stood out to them so they wanted to interview me early. They said they would let me know whether I was successful or not within a couple weeks, and from there I c...

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

I have a question as an outsider, I was surprised that even though both the pilot and FA group work for the same company, there weren’t really any pilots at the strike? For all the people complaining about section 107, it was weird to see not much solidarity Even Jazz pilots attended the FA strikes...

Re: Flow timeline after new fleet orders?

Mainline is not overstaffed. If they were, pilots would have much cushier schedules, double time wouldn't be offered for overtime, and reserves wouldn't be called all the time. Was the recent bid not to balance the bases, reduction out east, followed by vacancies out west? I ask because by appearan...

Re: Sim philosophy

This has always intrigued me and not just AC. I have never found recurrent sim to ever be nerve racking and I have no clue why so many make such a great deal about it. Or maybe it's just a way to flex a little on social media. I am by no means a rockstar, but I spend time reviewing procedures and m...

Would you say the that the recurrent sim at AC is generally less nerve wracking than if it were an annual ppc? Does it feel more like a trainer?

Re: Why WestJet?

In YVR at AC you could hold any YVR position shortly after the course (NB FO and RP). It wouldn't be a crazy wait for WB FO or NB CA either. On the last bid the junior NB C and 777 FO was around 3700 and 787 FO 4600. My buddy started there 2 years ago, 737 YVR base right away, he’s still on reserve...

Re: Why WestJet?

How much growth has WestJet had in the last 10 years ? Cancelled WB orders, Q400 parked without crews and the incoming MAX10 (lolol) are just going to replace the old 700s. 10 years in the company and guys can’t even hold a block on the Dreamliner on the right seat. So is WJ mainline basically full...

False. At least on the 320 side. I recently had to displace someone to avoid running into FOM recency issues. I have not flown more than 50 hours in the last few months, and probably partly because I'm either not passing flights and I'm listing short call which makes me a priority over someone else...

How often are these junior NB captains getting called out while on reserve? You’ll be called out quite a bit , it’s spread out a bit more now as compared to the old reserve system (not as easy to pass on flying for more senior guys on reserve). Summer, winter will be busier, late spring and fall qu...

Reduction bid projections should be out in the next 6 weeks according to the latest video update from the office. I heard there is a GS coming in Apr/May. Anyone got into that? Dash classes running till May for sure. Probably one class a month. Summer classes depends on staffing.
