You could try General Airspray in Lucan, On. They used to have Stearmans. May have some stuff laying around.

Re: Live traffic feed for Canada, alike passur
The only one I know of is ATC Live. This allows you to listen in on radio transmissions at verious airports in Canada and some in the US. Give it a try.

Re: Float operators ins. minimums
Guys; Thank-you for all your valuable input. The response is overwhelming - ask a pilot and they are happy to share!! Thank-you!! Lots of different opinions, all very interesting. It will take us awhile to hash through the info. It is great to hear from so many with such great experience. There are ...

Float operators ins. minimums
I was just wondering if any operators or people in the know could give me an idea of what the ins. minimums are these days. My son wants get into the flaot flying industry in the north. He is doing his commercial on floats and it is getting a bit costly. I was wondering if he ended up with 100 hours...

Re: From Wheels to Floats
Hey guys, does anyone know how much float time a person should have to land a float job anywhere in the north? If you did your Commercial and had 200 hours total time, 100 on floats and 100 on wheels would that be enough to land an entry level float job or should you do it all on floats? (which is s...

Commercial Ground School
Can anyone tell me if they know of a commercial ground school that is done in a short time period. There seems to be lots of on line courses but we would prefer to be spoon fed by a classroom school. Also get it done in a month or less. Any suggestions? Peferably in Western Canada as my son is in Ke...

Re: General Airspray
Great place to work. Paul is a great guy and as long as you do your job he is very fair. You would start on the Super Cub doing surveillance for the Ag-cats and then eventually move up to spraying with the Cat. You would get approx. 60 hours on the Cub in about 8 weeks in the summer. They also do se...

Re: whose hiring?
Everybody is hiring. No matter what your time is just put together a good resume and get them out to everyone. Someone will be interested. Try to get on it before all the float pilots finish up and start looking for work for the winter. Good Luck!!

Re: Air Hart
Thank-you fellows!! He has been there a couple of weeks now and has done about 15 hours. There have been a few windy days that he couldn't fly as they don't like to have the new students landing in whitecaps but all in all he is doing well and really enjoying his time there. He says Dave and Trevour...

Re: Air Hart
Thanks Bobby868! I have to agree, it should help when job time comes. I talked to him last night and he was in N. Michigan getting close to Wisconsin. He is driving his old beater and is as excited as could be. Another thing I am thinking is that they told him he should be done by November and hopef...

Thank-you for the info everyone! My son is heading to Kelona on Sunday and starting his training there with Air Hart asap. Trevour is still there and is waiting for him to get there. He says he should have his commercial with 200 hours or more on floats by Nov. 1st. We'll see. Take care! Thanks agai...

Bright;
They are saying that they have a 80% placement rate. Did you find that to be true? How receptive were the float operators after you did that course?

Thank-you Wburns! Sounds like you had a good experience and came away with some value worth the money. There are so many ways to do this that it is a bit confusing and frustrating. I just want my son to get the best bang for his buck that he possibly can. The job requirements are so variable from on...

Anyone out there that has done any flight training with Air Hart in Kelona. My son is thinking of going. He is not sure whether to go there for the whole private and commercial or whether to do his private here in Ont. on wheels and maybe up to 150 hrs. and then finish his commercial off in Kelona w...

I'd have to say also Merv Cowen at Brucelandair. There was also a great group at General Airspray. Rock and Paul are super. They gave me my first job, flying their Super Cub on survaillence. When you have a fresh commercial and no where to go it is great to know there are people out there that belie...
