Hello,
I know what company this is about and who you are. Clarence is an a*hole so no wonder he set you to go figure this out by yourself. Just make sure you don't end up needing therapy in a year from now from working at said company. Welcome to the sh*t show!
Cheers

Re: Convert Canadian CPL to FAA CPL
No, all that is actually wrong. I will tell you how I did this... Step 1, get yourself an FAA Class 1 Medical (you can get Class 3 but I did Class 1). Dr. Trevor Gillmore in Vaughan does this. Step 2: Open an account in IACRA at https://iacra.faa.gov/IACRA/Default.aspx, fill out the IACRA informatio...

Re: Road Trips
This has to be the most depressing post I have read on avcanada, but unfortunately, there is truth to this post. Over the past few years in school, they were feeding us BS pipe dreams of flying for the regionals through the cadet programs by now. I get emails from the cadet programs about once every...

Re: PPL Studying Help (pilot training.ca)
I hate to be pessimistic or to be a dick to anyone. But, I have to say that if you have to use someone else’s formula sheet because you are too lazy to make your own, then you are not cut out to be a pilot. Making that formula sheet while going through the content and deciding what’s important to pu...

Re: Fresh CPL pilot job outlook
As a fresh CPL myself and on the same boat as you, I would recommend that you keep trying and don't be discouraged. Dont be in a huge rush to get the Multi and the IFR this minute (that was my mistake as I spent 15k doing this right before the pandemic). Go knock on doors after this pandemic passes....

Re: PPL Studying Help (pilot training.ca)
Although it is important that you learn the basic building blocks (aka PPL Ground Instruction), you can do more concise studying. You need to just go over all of the Harv's air material once and maybe read From the Ground Up cover to cover once. Then just get a sharper edge PPL book and a NIZUS subs...

TC Exam Centers Closed?
Hello all, I am trying to get my IATRA done. However, TC exam centers are closed according to their voicemail due to the virus. I have called them and left a couple voicemails over the past 2 weeks with no response. Does anyone have any idea as to when they may open? Do they have any other ways of w...

Re: Which path to take?
Hello, Honestly, with the way this industry is right now, I suggest that you get a diploma in something else while doing your training on the side OR you hold down a secure well paying full-time job in something else while doing your training. I did a college diploma in aviation and a second diploma...

All flight schools in Ontario are closed as well right now. A few were open 2 weeks ago but even those have closed now.

Re: PTR Issues with Flight School
Thanks to everyone here for giving me ideas on how to dig myself out of this mess. Long story short, the TC inspector designated to the school called the CFI to tell him that he legally has no other choice but to fill out the records of training including training completed in the block time aircraf...

Re: PTR Issues with Flight School
I wish I could say the name of the school. But, as you know, I cannot. All I can say is that they are big and well known. This kinda school is the last place anyone (like myself) would expect something like this to happen. I am not gonna just bend over for them but for the sake of my career I am not...

Re: PTR Issues with Flight School
I flew 130ish hours at that FTU (dual and solo combined, some of it was night and IFR training). I will ask him to add all that after he gets back to me with the 70 hours. Atleast that way I have the 70 hours in case things go further south.

Re: PTR Issues with Flight School
During my meeting with the CFI today, he agreed to complete my PTR (and he was not pleased because he got a phone call from TC). He now says: "I will put in whatever is within the regulations to get you through". I asked him what that means and I was told that he would put the 70 hours (35 dual and ...

PTR Issues with Flight School
Hello all, I am a commercial pilot student who is having troubles with the school and their records system. My school uses an electronic pilot training record and approximately half my times were not entered in my pilot training record by my instructors. The CFI said in an email that he will try to ...

Re: Jazz to launch pay for type rating program
Some places do PPL, CPL, Group 1 for $50k in 18 months. That RJ type rating must be one hell of a type rating for $70k.GoinVertical wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 6:18 am Doesn't MFC do the integrated ATPL and diploma for like 70k?

Re: Jazz to launch pay for type rating program
Honestly, @#$! this program. This program is made for rich kids with parents who have deep wallets. CaptainKirk, states that he worked 2 jobs as an immigrant to afford flight training. I have done the exact same thing and that's why I am qualified to comment on this. I am an immigrant and I don't ha...

I attended the seminar. Mark was a really good instructor and he tells you exactly what to study and what not to study, in addition to explaining the content. I would recommend reading the Instrument Procedures Manual, the CAP Gen, looking over the general layout of the CFS and approach plates, and ...

Re: Seneca College Airline Pilot Flight Operations Diploma
Snowcrest, the reason so many people dislike Seneca graduates is because of the ego that some those individuals display. As an example, I was working somewhere with Seneca students and one of them decided to tell me: “your XYZ school can’t get you into Jazz. You will need to make atleast 1000 hours ...

Re: Seneca College Airline Pilot Flight Operations Diploma
I gave this program some thought as well. However, I am not convinced that this diploma will make a difference for a guy like me with 300 hours, a CPL/MIFR, and a "non-flying" aviation diploma from Seneca. As far as I am concerned, I have met the requirements of "Graduate from an Aviation College de...

Re: urgent: Sault college or Confederation
Due to last year's college strike, every student in flight training in every aviation program at every college in Ontario got set back. Someone I know who went to Sault College and graduated this year finished their MIFR 4 months after graduation. This is pretty common in college flight training, I ...
