Re: Seair Seaplanes?
Very long duty days - dawn to dusk in the summer. Not sure why the pilots put up with that. I guess if you don't, you don't have a job. Nice equipment. And you can park where you want anywhere on the dock in YVR.

What a story. Any one of us could have made that decision to eject. And some have kids at home.

I've experienced the crackling on takeoff as well. I own a Peltor 8006 that I put an ANR kit into. I thought the crackling was a problem with my headset (a blown speaker) as it first happened after I had put a lot of use on it over a coulple years. I have discovered that the crackling is caused by l...

I love Peltors - the most comfortable and best noise cancelling out there! I know they look cheesy but I've had mine for 6 years with no problems (except for broken wires from the battery box - easy fix). A buddy of mine showed me a neat trick - hook them up to a time Xed ELT battery - lasts over a ...

Right on Dog, Things are finally changing and I'm with you on all you've said. I see the pay increasing not because of the pilots that have been at a company for a few years finally getting a raise to what they are worth, but because the new, (and less experienced usually) driver is demanding more p...

I worked for Cam and with The Reverend at Blacksheep. One of the best outfits I've ever worked for. Cam seems pretty gruff when you first meet him (perhaps all the time) but is a great guy with a great sense of humor. During a TC Audit one year Cam told me he had to send in some paper work regarding...

I'd agree with Dash 2/3, you'll find yourself short one day if you use 20 imp for the Beav especially if flying a lot of different ones. I use 23 imp/hr for flight planning in all of them untill I get to know the actual machine. 20 imp gal hr = 3 minutes per gallon so its handy if that is what you a...

We used to call this outfit the SWISS ARMY. When I was there they had the Cessna 185 with the crazy float paint and a Cessna 172 that would go roaring up and down the lake burning off fuel before it got airborne. Magdrop Jr. your handle makes me laugh! Use to have the odd beer with Magdrop and Ace (...

My thoughts on the original post: 1) The government has already tried this - stole children off the reserves and put them in residential schools away from thier famillies - some kids taken without thier parents knowledge. Didn't work so well for most except for the Christian perverts. Our government...

Sorry to hear Jack in is poor health. I was lucky enough to have a few lessons with Jack years ago and I still talk about them to this day. Phillips66 Also, I've seen the abuse the opposite of what you talk of Cat Driver. I've seen a company that is flying right now on the southern West Coast that s...
