Re: Service Suspension Notice
Pretty thin on details. Not surprising though with the US moving to required pre-arrival COVID testing starting Jan 26.dhc# wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 8:34 am More cuts just announced by AC

Re: More WJ layoffs
Some thread drift but certainly an interesting take on the Canadian political climate and where we think the industry is going or not going. But what about the short term? As the thread title looks at More WJ layoffs; any rumours from Team Teal on this. Your MOA ends at the end of March? How many ar...

Re: CES first officer or captain requirements?
Have we returned to the experience requirements of ol' where you need shuttle time to fly a Navajo in Canada? Hmm. In the current market they can ask for whatever they want and will probably get it!!! For a private operator, I'd guess more experience means less insurance. How many WJ pilots with to...

Re: More WJ layoffs
I'm betting on layoffs or major concessions at the end of the current MOA. The 1000 non-pilot layoffs / pay cuts is an overture of what's to come.

Re: Anybody Joining/Rejoining the Airforce?
Nonzero chance of being shot at while on the job. Nonzero chance of being stationed in an extremely inhospitable place while on the job. I suppose both are risks in any flying job, but i'd say they're a lot higher in the military. The irony of this statement is that I’ve got friends who flew up Nor...

Re: Fox Flight Pay
I had an interview there a few years ago. From what I recall FO pay was around 50K and captain around 80K. Good answer... Speaks volumes on quality of life as well as how the place is operated. Two cents, don't sign the bond.... but you know as well as I do the next guy being interviewed will, so w...

Re: Anybody Joining/Rejoining the Airforce?
Or perhaps the Forces should not be the Employer Of Last Resort. Just a thought... Considering your salary after flight training (to wings standard) is about $80k/yr I think it's fair to say its better than working the ramp throwing bags for minimum wage after dumping tens of thousands of dollars i...

Re: Ramp to Pilot Position Waiting Times
Well, I did. I fully expect that the 10s of thousands of dollars I've spent on flight training will exempt me from starting from the bottom. Unfortunately it seems you were sold a lie. Even at the best of times, you could maybe expect some survey or pipeline patrol work in a 172. Most stay on to in...

That was the takeaway? How about advertising the “Become an airline pilot faster” part? I guess someday is technically “faster” than never.'97 Tercel wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:58 pm You shouldn't have to sport a tie in a plane so small that shoulders overlap.

Re: Pay for you PPC - Is it starting already?
Just before this went to sugar honey iced tea, Corporate sold my ride. I was lucky enough to get on with a small company that sent me to sim in the USA. I was coming back, when I had 2 calls while waiting for my bags in customs with offers of groundschool dates. Sorry these guys just spent a ton of...

After reading this thread I saw an ad on this forum that made me laugh... I also laughed at the "Realist" meme.

Re: BETTER HURRY!! THEM PPCs BE EXPIRING!!
Better off giving someone else the shot and mold the way you want them, not a disgruntled airline pilot. I find sometimes operators use this type of language to mask taking advantage of less experienced pilots. Less experienced not only in terms of flying hours but also in what is and isn’t accepta...
