Re: Airline dispatchers

What if the certificate is issued by a state organisation i.e. Transport Canada. The certification becomes a requirement by law, i.e. CARS.

At ACJ it is about 40K after training. I guess YHZ isn't that attractive compare to big cities.

Today's ad on the workopolis is the 5th within a 6 months period. Someone hijacked all their dispatchers. Perhaps someone may enlighten me.

Thanks mate. Those links will keep me occupied for the night. It is a type B ops. And I am new in this dispatcher business, and fairly new to Canadian aviation. It's already stretching my past experiences and knowledge (mostly ATC) to the limit by the virtually non-existing training by this company....

transition training

It is a must for the company to provide training to dispatchers for new aircraft type. And his implica...

I am demoralized

Went to an interview with Porter today and came away extremely impressed. In comparison, my current company seemed very amateurish. It is going to be hard to drag myself to work from now on.

Canadian North is a great company. They used to contract out their dispatch to Skyplan Services. They must be starting to do it for themselves... If they are hiring, and you are looking for a good dispatch job, I would go after it! Since you mentioned that their dispatch used to be out sourced. I a...

I had those prep work books and the answer sheets are to be used with caution. There are quite a few errors and I expect a better compiled work books for $70. Nevertheless, it was still a good exercise since I had to double check all the answers in the books.

Got a call from Westjet for an interview. Anyone knows what kind of question will be asked for the dispatcher position? Thanks.

Btw, is the paid really awlful? I mean if it is life sustaining?

Does the scores of the exams important? Or just a pass is enough? I took the MET exam out of curiosity while waiting for the next Aerocourse dispatcher course, and I got a very lucky pass. Now trying to do the OPS before Christmas if I am sure I have covered all area according to TC study guide. It ...
