Re: HireVue Video interview

The email is a new thing. It’s just 20 pre written questions on hirevue. You can expect a call soon about scheduling an actual video interview with HR, which will be replayed to flight ops through hirevue.

Re: HireVue Video interview

If it’s your first contact, it’s just a bunch of prewritten questions and you won’t even respond with video responses. It’s a new thing they’re doing instead of a phone call at first. Extremely straight forward. Just mostly questions about your pilots license.

Received a similar email. Interviewed exactly 2 weeks ago but for an FO spot. The email said that my application is still in progress and being transferred to a new posting.

It's all on the ALPA app. With the details of how to list.
Yeah I see that, my only question is are all ALPA members able to use that? Or is it dependant on who you work for? Or are all those airlines listed already pre negotiated agreements you get upon membership?

ALPA Jumpseat Question

Question for other pilots members of ALPA; I fly for an ALPA carrier myself, however we just recently joined ALPA. I have a trip coming up down south and was wondering exactly what reciprocal agreements we have. I have reached out to my mec but heard nothing. Before we were ALPA, we had reciprocal a...

Re: Hiring outlook

I heard that the Toronto base is full and that all new hires are being based in Calgary only, any thoughts until Toronto opens up again? Looks like YYC for the next while, especially with that expansion they recently announced. Once flow and upgrades start up again shouldn’t be too hard to transfer...

Re: What is a better way to get your licenses?

At this time, I'd say get everything done ASAP. Joining cadets and getting your GPL/PPL paid for is a great start (as I did a few years back when I was your age). Going to a college like Sault (which I wouldn't recommend that school) can be tempting since you can go to Jazz with 250 hours, but in re...

PICUS at Encore

Hi everyone, Just wondering how the PICUS program is at Encore. Are there enough training pilots/PICUS eligible captains to keep up with the demand? Is it reasonable for someone with 150 PIC to expect to fly 200 hours under PICUS to log 100 PIC within 2 years of being hired in order to qualify for t...

Re: Schedule/reserve/layovers

Thanks for the replies folks. How do they determine your base before you’re hired? Is it just randomly assigned? Or do they give you a bit of a choice in the matter? Also, how easy would it be for a new hire FO to live in YHZ but commute to YYZ if based there? Do any of the YYZ pairings start with ...

Schedule/reserve/layovers

Just curious what your guys and gals schedules look like for both YYZ and YYC bases. Also, what are the scheduled layovers that you typically do? Is it mostly 4 day pairings? How does the social bid work in terms of reserve?

Hiring process - next steps

Hi all, I completed the online interview for the flight path program about 3 weeks and haven’t heard back with a PFO or continuing the process. I have 900TT, 675 of which is 704 turbo prop and I have about 140 PIC. Is it normal to not hear anything for this long? Are they probably focusing more on t...

Re: Wil Jazz hire with instructing time only?

Good day, All the judgement and hate against instructors aside, I would like to know the current updates on this topic? What are the chances of applying as a 1000TT instructor? If accepted, is there a choice between flying the RJ vs Q400 or do low time pilots start at Q400 and upgrade? Or you just ...

Can someone who recently went through the process tell me if there is 2 personality tests that you need to do as well? (outside of how they judge you in the sim). I haven't heard or read anything about this on here, and have only heard about it from only one person in person... not sure if its a rel...

So am I reading this right? I work for an ALPA carrier currently but say I come to Jazz in 4 months... I get to bid ahead of anyone in the class who wasn't previously employed by an ALPA carrier?

throw back to when Chorus upper management used "fear tactics" and threatened to create Jive....
That clearly didn't happen... all it lead to was a bad contract.

That said, we all know that Georgian's flying is all but done, point being that "fear tactics" are rarely acted upon.

Last year, All colleges in Ontario professors went on strike. This included Aviation faculty and instructors at Sault College. The strike was a dispute over a new contract, and it had lasted for approximately 7 weeks in total from late Oct, into early Dec. We returned in early Dec, basically to be t...
