Re: Career First Officer at AC by design?

Not to mention a Southwest newhire makes more than a 5 year pilot at AC and works fewer hours. Pathetic. As is that pay stub above. An American 787 FO makes 350.000 US ~(464.000CAD) and has more time off and better working condiotions.

We used to fly them from LHR to YQX then on to YHZ in the early 80's (AC860). The company later switched it it over to YYT. Imagine that- A widebody from London to Gander as a scheduled route!

Software Install PMDG, Prepar3d

Any ideas on how to get a pc loaded up and ready to go with a flight sim game, specifically PMDG and Prepa3d V4.3. I am completely software and file folder illiterate and I know downloading these and trying to install them and optimizing the settings would put me in the hospital. Was thinking of bri...

4. I also think you are not allowed to ever bid a downgrade. This means that if you chose to go captain early, you can never bid down to the right seat ever again.

NB Cpt's can bid WB FO

Re: American Express (Premium Plaza) Lounge will now require a boarding pass

Saw the writing on the wall a long time ago. I did not renew the card.
Some crew members had absolutely zero class and ruined the experience for everyone.
Getting one card and dishing out supp cards? How low can you go?
Simply embarrassing...Good on Amex for enforcing new rule.

Re: American Express credit card w/lounge access?

Not worth it in my opinion. I f you want to eat healthy, you have to look after yourself, which means packing your own food. Lounge and airport restaurant food in general is smack full of sodium and trans-fats etc etc.
The lounge used to be a relaxing quiet place to sit. Not anymore....

Re: What do you think of the new uniforms?

I think allowing facial hair is a huge mistake.
Also, the uniform police need to be out in full force.
There are many slobs out there and it reflects poorly on the brand and your fellow colleagues..
Passengers see and notice much more than you think.

I can guarantee if pilots need 120/80 or better, - there would be exactly zero airlines in business.

In the 80's & 90's you could always spot the cons-They were the ones in the last row wearing suits and ties.

Re: Need advice on RAIC pass in Toronto

I'm afraid there is not much you can do but to wait and see what the outcome will be. Drug trafficking and airport jobs don't mix well. It has nothing to do with you, but in the minds of the powers that be is another story. It sucks, I know. My advice would be to stay away from druggies. Best wishes...

Re: Pilots and Alcohol

I understand being an airline pilot can be very stressful at times. But drinking to the extent that behavior becomes an issue the day of flight is inexcusable and illegal. I would almost bet this was not the first time these two jokers did this. Only this time, they got caught. It is a shame and am ...
