Re: Happy Birthday, You're Fired!!

.....For me personally, I know when I turn 60 you won't see me anywhere near an airplane. I'll enjoy my modest pension. ilovelamp, be wary of making pronouncements like the one above. Things change. Situations do too. Definitive statements like yours can come back to haunt you. And even if we reade...

Re: FP60 update Federal Court of Appeals

Perhaps if the litigants had started this process 10 years sooner it would be solved by now... Geez....6 pm out here on my island and once again I have to put aside the juniper juice, lift my bulk off the sofa and shuffle over to the keyboard. Might as well become a "friend of Bill"! Ten years is a...

Re: FP60 update Federal Court of Appeals

So forgive me if I see the need to ask the bank for a second mortgage to pay your clients as a "screwing over". In all sincerity, what would be a more apt term then ? I swore to myself: “Self,” I said, “Do NOT get involved in this argument. Let it reside where it belongs. With the courts. Everythin...

Re: Fed Ct Overturns Tribunal Dismissal of Age 60 Complaints

Question for Raymond.

Does the recent dissolution of AC's law firm - Heenan Blaikie - have any effect on the current FP60 legal proceedings? Or do the lawyers for AC just continue on under the letterhead of whatever new firm they've snuggled up to?

Don't know whether or not it's been posted elsewhere, but apparently the History Channel is running a story on Beurling tonight (Mon, Jan 07) at 9 pm Eastern. Program is called Air Aces.

Hey Chris,

The 'Goose' - as in Labrador (A/M Robert Leckie High 63-65) - but fwiw, I think my father might've flown the Goose (airplane) at some time during his RCAF service.

Cheers,

Re: New TA reached!

Fwiw, I predict that the pilots will agree to a DC plan for new hires.  (I know, I know...what's next?  The Lotto numbers maybe?) I also predict that the other unions will do what they've always done when dealing with management - they'll stand firm - and their DB plans will remain untouched, includ...

Re: New TA reached!

G'day Doug, Great words about the DB/DC pension issue.   One thing no one seems to refer to is that this TA repotedly includes a NEGOTIATED increase to the MPUs.  What is not mentioned is that once the DC plan members outnumber the DB plan members, the majority of the union will have NO incentive to...

I too am an Air Canada retiree (I'm contesting that btw, however the subject is amply covered on a different thread) and, since my forced exit, I do a fair amount of pleasure travel each year. From my experience, the AC "pass" system is disappointing. Retirees pay a service charge on ALL 'passes' an...

Gotta agree with Johnny, this post/thread should be deleted. From what I hear, the correspondence was originally posted on a PRIVATE forum and – unless BOTH the parties involved gave permission to do so – copying it over to this public forum is, at the very least, out of line. "Patron", the pilot wh...

Re: CHRT Remedy Ruling?

It appears at first glance that Ray won very little of what he boasted he would win on the FlyPast60 website. This was a small financial victory for Vilven and Kelly ($45,000 and $62,000 respectively). However I would assume much of that will be eaten up by legal costs. That's about $53,000/pilot. ...
